People make a big deal about the hole... but it's not really a big deal because of lance stances. It's not an exposed area. The most important areas to armor on a Dragoon would be the head and shoulders because they stand to the side hunkered down. They're also supposed to have a greater attack range. The lance is also hend at about the same level with the gap, so it's still protected via lance parry. The only case where this would be an issue is the Male Roegadyn, who stands more forward with the lance held higher. Thus, not much is really going to be getting into the exposed area. It's minimized and hard to get to to begin with. I play a Higherlander F. As you can see below, in a proper battle stance, the only way something will be able to hit that area is to come from a low angle moving up. You're probably more concerned with moving out of the way than being guarded for such an attack.

Everyone is making the assumption you get hit from all the areas all the time, or that things will just go straight for that one weak spot, but it's well guarded by 1.) the stance 2.) the arms and 3.) the weapon. It's also exposed at an angle you should NEVER be open from to begin with. If you stand at an angle where your opponent can strike at your abdomen easily, you deserve what you get to begin with. Even in the normal attention stance, if an assassin comes up to you, they're probably going to have something that can pierce you to begin with, so you could argue the expose area is sever there because then you don't have to worry about armor shards getting into your abdomen, and abdominal injuries are rarely fatal to begin with, and more easily fixed.

Obviously, the solution is that all male gear should look like unmodded Skyrim (with mandatory face-covering helmets), and all female gear should look like Queen's Blade (face-covering optional; nobody's looking there). That appeals to everyone, right?

People still complain about this stuff?

    In a fictional videogame?

    Where realism doesn't apply?

Personally I get a chuckle out of Tank players who glamour their armor to be nothing but a bikini and go forward Tanking all the enemies like a beast anyway. Double the points if it's a guy avatar doing that, since I don't see as many guy characters do that.

That said, I do believe this is entire reason why the glamour system was put in. Don't like the way something looks? Glamour it. It's that bleeding simple.

Ninjas? Where?? Oh I hate those dreadful things, all black and revealing, I hear they run around looking sexy and showing off.

Gives us common everyday leatherworkers a bad name!

The key difference is, dressing like this was my choice.

You have plenty of armor choices before and after the drachen, to suit multiple standards of taste. And some of us like the look besides. Get over it.
Actually robes would better protect you against magic damage. So in reality if your fighting someone whose high magic and low physical you should be wearing magic leather or robes. Or robed armor.

Games really need to go back to the sandbox days, horizontal progression.

Wearing plate armor against someone who is breathing fire? EWWW!! You would become a kettle pot!

They should just unlock it so everyone can glamour everything and be what they want to be.

Oh you mean like my choice to wear the DRG outfit as it is, that choice those people asking for that belly window to be closed are trying to take away from me, hmm?

People who don't like the AF as it is have the choice to glamour something else over it.

I would say the the inclusion of glamour increase the amount of choice one has dramatically. I never liked my AF's design myself.

wearing Dragoon AF1 or myth gear is also the players choice (even if as a glamour, or the gear itself with no glamour on it). Nothing force someone to wear it.
