The Heavensward Site Has Been Updated!

I mean... We're almost two months away from a release and we have yet to receive any kind of specific information concerning the expansion.

Like others have said, we're 2 months away. Disks haven't even been printed yet. They will likely be working on Heavensward until the week it comes out. They've already said more specific details will be released as we get closer to release.

What are the actual abilities of these new jobs?

Details are scarce as they are probably being fine tuned and finalized. We know Machnist uses attachments which lock him in place in exchange for higher damage, as well as drones he can spawn which can buff allies or do even more DPS. Astrologian can do both jobs of healing and shielding. Dark Knight is our most unknown job at the moment.

What are the new abilities for current jobs?

Already stated to be coming in a video nearer to release. As above, they are probably still tweaking stuff.

Are we getting a dungeon akin to Crystal Tower again?

Patch 3.1.

Why did the class system get dropped for the new jobs? Will it be dropped completely in the months coming?

Yoshida has never liked the class system. He has stated future jobs won't use classes but the current base classes will not be dropped or changed in the future.

What are the new crafting abilities and what kind of implications does "specializing" have?

We heard a tonne about specialization in the PLL. Not sure what else you want.

What exactly are "high level levequests" - what makes them different from a normal levequest?

Likely actual challenges rather than the tutorial fights levequests in ARR were, or an introducting to new mechanics in Heavensward.

What other primals, if any, are to be introduced with the expansion?

None until after Patch 3.1

Will we be able to join one of the four great houses of Ishgard?

I think i'm going to go Xaela. I don't know why, but i don't like the vibe i get from the Raen.

Also, moon types are my personal preference.

Edit: I think i know why i don't like the Raen. The female one previewed reminded me of Natalie Dormer. I don't trust Natalie Dormer's face. She looks like she knows exactly when the world is going to end.

It does not really matter what they tell us more about unless they actually announce something new. I mean I love how they announce things with such enthusiasm regardless of what it is, as if people actually enjoy levequests and FATEs. As always with XIV you don't have to actually hear anything about what is to come because you already know and if it by some miracle happens to be something new its implementation is just plain bad to the point that it might have just been best not to hype it beforehand. There are years of it ahead so please look forward to it guys.

Benchmarks are for PC users to test if and how well their system can run the game's new settings. PS3/PS4 users have no need for it as their systems are all uniform.

would be nice if they released a small 'demo' of it on PS4 oh well my laptop can run FFXIV at roughly 24 to 20 Fps so the heavens ward character creator will last long enough for me to make my raen

This was a no brainer for me, Xaela all the way. I'm going to embrace the power of Darkness and follow in Raubahn's footsteps. Forget Ishgard, I'm nore interested in taking back Ul'dah lol.

The digital PS4/3 versions aren't available yet anywhere as they're still working on it with Sony.

No, because the benchmark isn't supposed to be a demo, it's just there to test DX11. The original one was character creation so this one is too, it just includes the Au Ra too as they're finished enough to put it into it.

thank you bu the digital collectors edition are available for pre order on the n/a square enix store thats why i was wondering why theres not anything setup on the eu site.. or does square enix eu need to pull there finger out!!
