Because youtube comments are well known for being insightful.Wow ok, I didn't expect anyone to disagree with me on this topic. Clearly people on this forum have different mindsets than people like me who play RPGs for the story. Go on and ignore this thread then. But if you look at any other forum, or Youtube comments and such, you'll see that tons of people agree with me.
Though I dont agree with the OP and Ive already completed the MSQ so far... I happened to see the one in jap and it was all in a different language so I would have been spoiled that way and I'm sure some are. they should put it in all languages in 1 video. It keeps people from seeing the wrong video and it gives the viewer more time to pause the video if they dont want to be spoiled. I'm not complaining, it's just a suggestion for the future![]()
The flashbacks are all in the beginning. You can easily just show them what happens after.
Oh sure, they should have no connection with ARR in the Heavensward movie, despite them being tightly connected. This isn't a trailer, it's an opening movie.
People are disagreeing with you because you said something eminently silly.
Square Enix abundantly warned against the spoilers. If one decides to ignore the warning, it's their problem. If you want to "share" with your non-playing friends, Square Enix released a spoiler-free trailer months ago.
That's really all there's to it.
And lol @ the youtube comments. You could take youtube commenters agreeing with your standpoint as a clear sign that you're completely off the mark.
It's the official forums. People will disagree with literally anything just to disagree.Wow ok, I didn't expect anyone to disagree with me on this topic.
Stop whining. If you're looking for a bunch of "yes men" who agree with you, go and join the others on youtube, etc. That warning is 5 seconds in on the video. If you choose to watch it without completing the MSQ then thats on you. But to come here and complain about it is just beyond me.. And I've noticed your responses to people have caught you off guard, hence your last reply. Get over yourself. Oh and of you already made another forum regarding this, there was no reason to make another.
I am not off the mark though, I am 100% correct in that putting spoilers in a trailer is a terrible move from a business standpoint, and the spoiler warning only makes it worse in that regard because it will turn away a good chunk of potential buyers.
You are all just looking at this from the player's perspective, repeating over and over that oh, there's a spoiler warning so it's okay! That's called missing the point. But it's okay, my message clearly wasn't for your ears anyway.
I didn't even play 1.0, so as someone who started playing at the release of ARR I didn't really mind the opening movie of it. Or to be more accurate, didn't understand it since I wasn't there for the story beforehand anyway. Even now on the verge of 3.0, I still don't know what happened before ARR, and I'm not particularly bothered by it either. The only reason I wish I'd played 1.0 was so I could've gotten the Legacy chocobo. That's literally ALL I genuinely missed.
My point is, from the perspective of a new player that wasn't even there for the story in ARR, I don't think they'll care if there's story content from 2.0 in the trailer for 3.0.
