Do you expect them to render every single possible combination of characters for the representation of the WoL in the CGI trailers and launch more than 1000+ of the same CGI scene but with a different model in it?

The Derplander as people call him added nothing worthwhile to the trailer at all. Could've just left him out entirely and instead shown an extra scene or two of Ishgard being attacked by dragons.

He represents us and Shows us fleeing to ishgard and fighting for Ishgard, he also Shows what many Player were missing during the 2.55 CS's (some emotions besides our usual nod)
I think it is good that they added him to represent us and i also think that his presence in the Trailer is rather important.

If you've played 1.0, you'd know he's practically the mascot of the series. In 1.0, you see him as a archer with his collegues and then he becomes a warrior and then finally a dragoon. It's a player's arc through out the world. I personally like seeing him in the trailers!
