TBH... This just scares me, more than anything. Especially considering how much needs to be invested to get just one crafter to 3 now 4 stars. The fact that there are people (or even just one person?) who could do this... yeah, frightening. Even with the whole "life must be different on NA servers" thing - though I'm not sure how, or if at all, those are different than the "EU" ones.

I only passed a total of 15mil a few weeks ago (still not even at 15.5), and the most I've paid for any one item (probably happened maybe twice) was like 120k - I don't think I've spent more than 5mil total. That all since launch, basically. Granted, all my crafters/gatherers max out at i50-something, because I refuse to do that soulless grind that is getting them any further.

So yeah, idk. I'd say congrats, but I'm actually terrified. Do forgive me please. @.@

TBH I terrified myself also. Like most seasonal crafters here, we started from scratch. I have been doing i55 crafter gears for 5 months at average selling price of 20-30k. Earning at the early stage of the game (back in 2013) was minimal with the enourmous amount of price update that needs to be done. (On average 20 times per item x 20 items x 2-4 retainers per day, that's 800-1600 items a day? Multiple that with a week then a month then a year. I have never done so much admin work in my entire career. Haha) Then patch days came and people start i70 buying gears, vanity trend booms and we all start planting flowers to craft dresses and hats, Summer and Coeurl bikini trends hits Eorzea and we started lvling fishing and desynthesis, I90 cashmere sauron gears was launched and we start spamming dungen for tomes for crafter materials. And now in Before the Dawn i110 gears and weapon are the spot light farming t4 for mats and re-level desynthesis, all these are just among the tip of the iceberg of the things that some of the crafters have put time in, research and micro-management to make it happen. I can only say SE did a great job in the crafter's progression over the years. It sure got us crafters hooked. If you look through all those timeline and the amount of activities that a person has engaged in, crossing 1b is not entirely impossible.

I plan to semi-retire and just enjoy QoL with friends now. I am sure it wont be long till someone post their 1b savings soon. Hope this in a way inspires other work and explore the contents in Final Fantasy A Realm Reborn in a more different and exciting way.

Never planning to go for 1bil. Just no need to have that much money. Good on you for accomplishing a goal that you wanted to obtain. As long as I have enough money to purchase whatever I want (I enjoy spending it more) I'm more than happy. I feel there's not enough necessary items to spend money on compared to MMOs of old where money was required to be able to do anything including having the absolute best gear and reach/maintain endgame raiding status.

Don't get me wrong, I own a nice house in the 1st ward of Lavender Beds on prime real estate and tons of glamours to keep myself looking nice and pretty but I still find myself wondering what is the point of having all this money?

So doesnt this mess up the economy for your entire server? You made most of this gil on the market board from other players. So you took 1 billion gil from other players out of the economy and hoarded it and never put it back into circulation on your server. Im no economist but that has to have some kind of ramifications on your server.

Im no economist but that has to have some kind of ramifications on your server.

All I know is we don't want to go on doing 50% of that achievement and suddenly by patch, the achievement criteria changes. (to cater to the mass) Its safer to wait and see approach.
