Whenever I'm playing a dps (working on my smn nexus ATM), I just find a friend to partner with for que times. Find a buddy that wants to play tank or healer and invite them along, does wonders for que times.

Play WAR for MAX DEEPS and fast queues for everything besides WoD, where you should go DPS for fast queues.
Idk, there's a lot of things to do to kill time. The only issue I've into as a DPS is finding a good group to do end game with. That 4 or 5 hours {Looking for party} in my mog house paid off.
When Ninja first came out i pretty much leveled it from 1-50 by doing fates+ leves as queue times as you could imagine were horrid
Queue times have actually been worst since the introduction of Gold Saucer it would seem.
Expert Roulette as example more often then not can take up to 45 mins
They really just need to move to a 5 person party system IMO.
1 tank
1 healer
3 DD
Adding new tanks and healer are bandaids to the issue as once people level those jobs a fair amount are just going to go back into the role they enjoy in a party. Yes, some may stay as a new tank or healer but the vast majority will go back to their DD roles.
Agreed. We should also fix the RMT spam by spamming non-rmt tells that are exactly like rmt tells. They really just need to move to a 5 person party system IMO.

OP text summarized:
Complaining on a Monday that Weekly DPS Ques are too long when the quests reset on Tuesday
Guess what, if you did it on Tuesday/Wednesday you'd have ques as short as 2 min for LotA - like i just had
*flies away*
oh and btw, you dont have to lvl stuff you wont use anyways in the end...
Dunno about other servers but even yesterday I was getting basically instant DPS queues. Did the entirety of Crystal Tower twice in one day (first for the first time, second for the weekly) and don't think I was ever in a queue for more than five minutes. Actually kind of annoying, as I'd been planning on levelling my fishing while I waited in queues...
Forgot the while shouting Looking for Party! and whatever else for those 4+ hours, and 4 hours if yo8u are lucky! been entire weeks you'd sit shouting for 8hours on days off andget nothing :P
UPDATE
I didn't unsub. Someone pointed out in this thread that the algorithms for queues have seemed messed up lately. Turns out it is. Yesterday, a Monday, I queued for 2 different queues that said 20 or 30 minutes and got in very quick. Expert queued in like 30 seconds even though it said 20 mins, and LotA queued in 3 mins even though it was over 20. After LotA I did Syrcus and WoD just in time for reset, which both were very fast as expected. This has never happened before with estimated queue time showing waaaay long, but queuing insanely fast, and as DPS at that. So something with queuing is broken after patch giving the illusion of much longer queues.
Also, for anyone that mentioned it being a Monday, that never mattered before. And for anyone mentioning that I don't have to level jobs I won't use anyways, I'm a completionist and also like to have all max levels in case I'm ever in the mood to switch and have a variety. I prefer DPS and healing. Tanking is okay, but DPS DoW is my focus at moment. DoM was my focus since launch, and only recently switched main from SMN to DRG. Got tired of SMN after a year and a half straight.
Of course there is still the low level issue though, but at least I can do endgame.
