Also, let's not forget that when he was shown to be Lahabrea, Minfilia was the one who took it harder than everybody else.

She's known him through her roughest times, including her childhood, adolescence, and into adulthood. Quite normal to worry like that over someone you've known for a long time. It's not necessarily romantic.

I totally see him being Minfilia's first, unrequited love. Like an adolescent crush you have on an older guy, specially since she was in a fragile moment. Maybe she never had the courage to tell him that, maybe she secretly loves him to this day. The way she was when he got posessed by Lahabrea made it pretty clear her feelings toward him are not the same as she feels about, let's say, F'lhaminn.

Perhaps she had a crush on him, who knows, but she has shown significantly more affection for F'lhaminn, the person who raised her.

so I was thinking before his stupid pervertedness he has feelings for her. I have no idea how old anyone is.
Thancred seems to be mid 20's if I had to guess.

Perhaps the "farewell Minfilia" is because she IS the last Scion left, (aside from the useless warrior of light), and not anything to do with a romance. That, and like I wrote above, he has known her since her childhood...it's like he's saying goodbye to an old friend (much like he felt over losing Louisoix, even 5 years later into ARR)

As for age, in the stories from the ARR 1 Yr anniversary, it stated he was around 15 when he first met her (if he was to believed of course!) By ARR, he'd be in his late 30s.

It's kind of sad there isn't an over-arching romance in XIV like all the ones there were in XI. We've gotten some one offs - the leader of the female pirates in Limsa had a crush on the leader of the male pirates in the 2014 Vday event but that didn't go anywhere. Nanamo/Raubahn is/was the closest thing to a romance we've got.

In fact, Urianger was implied in 1.0 to have been involved in the Sixth Umbral Era, which was 1500 years ago.
