I got one for you guys, and I am telling this as myself, a Tank. Aurum Vale *waits for the groans*

It's my first time attempting it, which I mention and everyone at that point instantly becomes very helpful, and extremely patient with me. And I am very grateful they did because...I basically caused the party to wipe at least 10 times, before making it to the final boss. Hell, we didn't make it to the final boss at all. It was 2:30 in the morning, I was actually having to keep myself from getting so pissed off to the point I wanted to flip my keyboard table over...it was time to log out and go to bed, so I said my goodbyes and left the dungeon.

It just seemed no matter how much I spammed Flash, and my Enmity building WS's, I would always, always, have one or two mobs pull away and go after someone, and that's when the dying would start. My final straw was against a pair of Malboros. i go after one, trying to keep the other one from spotting myself or the group, thinking, "fighting one is going to be bad enough." but sure enough, the second one aggroed the healer somehow, and you can guess where it went from there.

Again, they were very patient with me and very willing to continue, but I was so ashamed of my lack of tanking, and getting very over the edge, I had to drop.

Sometimes the fault also lies with the healer or the DPS. It's easy to overpull accidentally in AV, but the rest of the party has to be mindful of their own positioning and enmity levels.

The only other reason i can think of is the easter break for schools and there are a lot more kids about.
I read this post and the linked Reddit.
"WoD after lockout lift couldn't be that bad", I thought. "Not any worse than LoTA", I continued. "It'll be fine", I convinced myself.

If I or my alliance's SCH moved from healing our tank MTing, the tank died.
If I or our SCH healed their tank, our tank died.
If I or our SCH were healing their DPS, the MT died.
If I dashed for one of CoD's meteors, in the farthest end of the room, because it had no one was standing under it, our MT died.
Couldn't trust them with our tank/MT for 5 seconds.
I think all of the healers but myself and our SCH had jumped into Cerb's belly, leaving the two of us to bounce back and forth, trying to heal all the tanks and a few lingering DPS with Wolf Banes on them on opposite sides of the room. Needless to say, it didn't work well.

I'm glad I wasn't the only one to notice - our SCH felt the same way. "Healing Hardmode" xD

4 WHMs, yet mine and sometimes one other Regen were on the MT at any given time.
*lines them up, sticks hand up at head height, and walks....*

    Frustrating.

Not sure about your data center, but over here at Excalibur/Primal seems like WoD just has a lot more people that want to be carried.

On the first round (I did WoD twice consecutively) everything was wonderful and nobody died repeatedly for stupid reasons. The second round... uh crap. 3 people on my team wipe out before even a minute passes. One of them gets locked out of the next set along with 3 others. Complete Wipe at the Dragon, everything else was passable, albeit taking longer than it should. One person (the same one who got locked out) made excuses to AFK twice.

    ...

So I decided to go level my Arcanist job for a while so I can try SCH eventually, and the second dungeon run I get... I get one or maybe even two bots. The Tank (one of the suspected bots...) fails to use any skills at all throughout the dungeon. We're only saved by virtue of both myself and the healer recognizing that the Tank was going to be trash and I switched to the Tank pet instead. Vote Abandon was attempted but refused by (what I assume was the bot(s)) and the healer really wanted out, but stuck with it (probably to avoid penalties.)

I was in a WoD on my WHM. I had a SCH who couldn't be bothered to get out of Cleric, a MT who seemed rather squishy (they were full i110), and a Bard who didn't sing a single song (not even Paeon) but constantly complained for Goads.

When we got to the final boss, the Bard asked me why I even bothered to play WHM when SCH was clearly better in every possible way. I told them that both the healers had their pros and cons and they compliment each others' weaknesses with their strengths and I just happen to prefer WHM over SCH.

Well, apparently I was being super offensive because both the SCH and Bard started at me for not knowing my class at all. They asked me how much my t13 clear cost me and if I even knew what Shroud was (I was sitting on pretty low MP for the whole dungeon from the lack of assistance from my SCH). And it's just... sigh. I think I need a cup of hot chocolate and a good 12 hours of sleep.

I don't see the need for bashing any of the classes. It's really dependent upon the player and how they are using the tools they are given. Nor do I really feel like it was necessary for them to question my capabilities as a healer when they had just spent the past half hour letting me heal them. At least when it was all over I got commendations from the other 5 players in the party, so that was nice.

Couerl/Aether - I don't think any server is safe from that behavior, really. I see a lot of SCHs (sorry, I can't help but notice what my co-healer is or isn't doing) that are hoping for carries just letting their faerie do the healing while I'm mashing buttons all over the place. Not a physic was cast that day (just a note, I love having a SCH as my co-healer.... just not when I see them doing nothing but a bio now and then. No cast bars, no nothing). And a lot of WHMs that cast cure here and there and..... absolutely nothing else. This includes during cloud phase and DPSing the globes phase (sorry, name is escaping me atm). Sit and watch..... maybe toss a medica II for absolutely no reason.

Just all different horrors of WoD....
I remember having a full party of bards (dat party RNG...) and not one played any songs but swiftsong. They were pros at that.
Super squishy tank - blames inconsistent heals. He'd take half his HP in a single boss hit from just about everything, but he remained the MT for everything.
The three Chimeras. Very first trash mob. Near wipe.
5 headed dragon - Foes (gasp) pulled early and none of the tanks would hold hate, so it bounced around and cleaved the crap out of everyone with it's wide invisible range. Near wipe from the get-go.
The usual wiping at Angra... *slams face on keyboard*
No one killed the clouds at CoD with exception of a few, so of course she sucked up a ton and we wiped.
An Alliance WHM pulls with Aero. Wipe proceeds in the chaos.

and why is there an influx of WHMs that Medica II before everything? x.x

Separately - Hit trial roulette. Okay, Steps is up. like, 5 or 6 people say they're new. Immediately, people abandon ship. Then same people return. Then abandon. Went through 3 tanks. We finally had an awesome tank that - never did it before - was able to solo the daylights out of it.
The only nightmare there were the peoples lack of patience (and ADDs running amuck everywhere) for anyone new (which was a good portion of the party).
We fight through to the end with time up.
Hit trial roulette again.... Steps again. Luckily, only one abandon before we even take a step, this time.... but we got it by a landslide after one wipe. Dragon wasn't even near the gates before hitting the dirt....

I really never get that whole pre cast medica II before anything that's like the first big rookie mistake any WHM should be learning not to do. There are just a lot of things that happen in WoD that boggle the mind. People getting targeted by the gastric juice and ignoring it is one that is happening a lot more lately. Usually a melee and it's like all they do is watch their skill bar and mash buttons so they don't even see the target then the juice is under the boss or behind it in tail swipe range. Also melee dps who on cloud phase run around trying to stop meteors instead of focusing on cloud killing. I can understand it if it's a ranged they can stand on a circle and still kill stuff but really the dps should handle the clouds and healers who have nothing to do until the end of the phase can handle meteors since only like 3 at a time spawn and 6 healers can watch all zones.

Not that some healers even do that they just stand there next to the boss waiting for the end of the phase >.>. While i am on the subject why do people pile up at each side of the boss? Are they scared of the beams down the middle? When meteors spawn everyone is at one end of the map sprinting to get to the other in time. Should have one healer or ranged in the very middle since one meteor spawned there and the rest on either side of the middle since they can hit and heal from there then when meteors spawn the sides can run back and catch the 3 circles behind the middle. melee and tanks can get the ones at the front. But people seem to want to make it hard for themselves because they can't move out the middle to dodge a slow casting attack.

ugghhh.. you should've asked why the bard played a bard as their dmg is lower compared to melee (especially a songless bard).

Yeah - I'll admit I used to do that (was either medica II or regen, I honestly don't remember) when I first started when the game came out of beta, people were still figuring out the game and I didn't understand hate/enmity. The last game I played on a constant basis (Ragnarok Online) didn't really have a normal enmity chart (it was a very strange one that made no sense and could be exploited by your standing position when you're a close-range DPS) and had no healing chart buildup (you can have a load of priests dropping non-stop heal and sanctuary bombs on a tank and it didn't matter). But by WoD, this should have been figured out already, if not pointed out by DF peeps somewhere down the line (this is how I learned). These aren't pre-50 dungeons anymore - I'm apt to forgive obvious newbies (like in LoTA) or in lower level dungeons but not so much when they're in WoD and poetics gear.

sorry, I'm prone to long windedness :| /seppuku

While i am on the subject why do people pile up at each side of the boss?
You know, come to think of it, I find myself doing that, too - and then wondering WHY people stay out of the middle while doing so.... but never really tried standing in the middle, myself - unless I ran to heal someone on the other side. o_Oa Must be some kind of psychology at work there. Only reason I can think of is just people splitting from particle beam and not bothering to fill in the gap again (even at a distance) - but that doesn't explain the start. Only last thing I can think of is habit - 'never stand in front of the boss with the tank'. So the tank ends up standing alone in front of her face as if they have some kind of room-length line-AoE cooties.... or just that the beam has had that much of a mental impact without realizing...
