Yeah - I'll admit I used to do that (was either medica II or regen, I honestly don't remember) when I first started when the game came out of beta, people were still figuring out the game and I didn't understand hate/enmity. The last game I played on a constant basis (Ragnarok Online) didn't really have a normal enmity chart (it was a very strange one that made no sense and could be exploited by your standing position when you're a close-range DPS) and had no healing chart buildup (you can have a load of priests dropping non-stop heal and sanctuary bombs on a tank and it didn't matter). But by WoD, this should have been figured out already, if not pointed out by DF peeps somewhere down the line (this is how I learned). These aren't pre-50 dungeons anymore - I'm apt to forgive obvious newbies (like in LoTA) or in lower level dungeons but not so much when they're in WoD and poetics gear.

sorry, I'm prone to long windedness :| /seppuku

While i am on the subject why do people pile up at each side of the boss?
You know, come to think of it, I find myself doing that, too - and then wondering WHY people stay out of the middle while doing so.... but never really tried standing in the middle, myself - unless I ran to heal someone on the other side. o_Oa Must be some kind of psychology at work there. Only reason I can think of is just people splitting from particle beam and not bothering to fill in the gap again (even at a distance) - but that doesn't explain the start. Only last thing I can think of is habit - 'never stand in front of the boss with the tank'. So the tank ends up standing alone in front of her face as if they have some kind of room-length line-AoE cooties.... or just that the beam has had that much of a mental impact without realizing...
