The music is awesome, makes me want to drink a mojito and wander around the beach!

When I logged in this morning I thought "oh nice! new music"
Now after i've been idling in town all day watching for party shouts the music is about to drive me insane to where i've turned it off.
I was also less than thrilled when I traveled out to Coerthas (which is one of my favorite tracks in the game) and heard the faire music there too!
Probably not possible for this year, but how about including a on/off command for festival music? Or perhaps only having it active for certain periods of time? (ex during fireworks).
anyone else notice that the theme is the same as the music that played during the parade in the Ul'dah opening.

Liked it at first, but not sure if I can handle it for next 2 and half weeks. >.> FFXI summer festival theme was much calmer.
I know what you mean. It sounds very tropical, but there aren't really any tropical areas in the game.
It's soooo baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaad.
It is especially bad if you actually like that kind of music. It is like a crappy elevator music version of that sort of music. I hope whoever made it didn't pay much for the crappy synthesizer they made it on because the horns are so unbelievably crappy.
But really, if I could turn off two tracks forever...
...it would be the markets music and the crafting music. It's especially annoying how when you craft it keeps switching between the city track and the crafting track. In both cases, I'd much rather just have the cities own background music play uninterrupted if I'm going to have the game music turned on. Instead I just have to turn the music off when I'm crafting and going on large shopping trips(which after all can last an hour or so).
The music is terrible. lol
I had hoped for something more like the festival music from XI :x
had also hoped for a more Japanese event. XD
Having fun with it though.. with the music OFF.

A real mariachi band sounds so much better. Like, if people haven't seen the mariachi band playing for the beluga whale clip, they should check that out. The band is average, or at least in that short clip they don't play anything difficult, but their instruments are real of course and it sounds so much better.
But eh I'm used to playing the game without music or with my own music so whatever. There's no accounting for taste after all. It's hardly an issue for the game beyond the initial 'Waaaaaah???' reaction.
If anything though I thought the 'hater thread' would be about the mankinis or whatever they are called. I mean that is just stupefying to me. What kind of man wears a mankini top??? The kind that calls their fellow mankini wearers 'girlfriend' and 'honey' that's who. I mean they managed to find something even less manly than tying a t-shirt knot.
If some guy wants to dress like a woman, I have no problem with them being happy doing that as it is there life, but for the mankini top to be the standard option is mind boggling to me. I mean come on, where are the head dresses with fruit for the mankini top boys?
Seriously, is this one of those unexplainable Japanese things? Do guys who are not transvestites and/or gay guys really wear stuff like that in Japan?
Yeah it's one of the more grinding tracks, but I'm happy they're doing it for the festival.
