Okay so I must have to ask you bleeding hearts and soul-less monsters to cease and desist.
The argument is that there SHOULD have been a backup server for FFXIV and FFXI. This is true. It does not matter how you look at it, but a company must have some types of safety nets they can use when their entire base of operations goes ZRK.
Don't believe me? Why, in wars, are there forts, and are not relying on the massive bases of operation? Because backups are needed.
However, what SHOULD have happened DID NOT happen, where SE has some sort of backup so the playerbase can play. That warrants a half sincere wag of my finger and a slight slap on the hand.
Because of this earthquake, they lose out on millions of dollars due to April not having the PlayOnline thing charged. Woopdeedo, they lost millions.
Now then, that's what SHOULD of happened, so we can all play unhindered, however, I fully support them closing down the servers.
If it was a choice between people playing games and the possibility of everyone dying because all the power went to hell against no games and that possibility being severely cut, the choice is obvious:

The bleeding hearts of this thread, yes, I feel your pain, I want as few people to die because of this catastrophe. However, wishing death on the people who disagree with you makes you completely retarded and throws your opinion out of the window. Stop being such whiny *** already.
The trolls have a point that SE should of had a backup incase of Japan sinking or something in another country where the servers are safe, and have a right to be frustrated, however: They should not be soulless *** who get a rise out of trolling the bleeding hearts who are by far the easiest *** targets of trolling since Rick Roll was first uploaded on youtube. Yes, the servers being down could have been prevented, but they weren't. Suck it up, ***.
I believe we can all agree onto this middle ground, and I even held your *** hand and made the important bits REALLY REALLY BIG. So, if you'd kindly please shut the *** up about how much of a disaster and pain in the *** this is, we can discuss the issue at hand: Servers down, discuss.
I wager it'll be down for two weeks.
