Done 3 maps, all easy with a healer chocobo.

If the fights are giving you issue consider using your utility abilities to avoid needless damage, especially from Bombast.

Just throwing it out there, but for the more difficult maps, it might be very worthwhile to consider a class based build (not job) with xclass abilities picked out for Solo play.

Certainly sounds like having your Chocobo out is just about default if you want to do these solo.

The map I got said "Level 50 recommended." Didn't say anything about a party or recommended size of said party in the description. This was a map with 4 or 5 of a mix of drakes and biasts.

It's definitely a couple steps up from a solo LV50 treasure map, but it didn't seem too bad.

I have done 10 of these maps today solo. It wasn't that bad but then again I do main on SMN. I would say you do need to come prepared to those fights for alexandrite because the enemies hit hard. I saw some of my friends who play MNK and DRG jobs get thrashed really bad. They were very angry due to the fact that they lost over 5 treasure maps with alexandrite pieces in them for trying to solo. Alternatively, fates are viable if you can't get a party together plus I happened to get two pieces today from fates. If you play a melee class like MNK or DRG make sure you have a healer as the enemies AOE is magic based and they hit hard. I could be wrong but I did watch as my friends tried to solo and laughed at me for offering to help saying that they didn't need my help. In the end they got thrashed multiple times.

Got a menace marlboro that kept stunning me before using bad breath so I couldn't avoid it. Even with my healer chocobo, I died.

Don't underestimate these maps. Bring a friend or two.

Is the map stackable? I mean is it unique? Can I like save up lots of map and do them all at once?

what the hell is this? there's no warning at all that I'll lose Alexandrite if I die. I've done 6-7 maps without any problem but the last one had a bunch of bombs self-destructed on me.

what a waste of time grinding for 400 tomes... at least put some warning message to warn the new players.
