Yeah this was very odd for me, SE trying to get that extra cash from us. Still, this must be a mistake because they didn't even convert it and in theory its over charging how much we are meant to pay.Any other game has converted to the actual UK price but SE is always and oddball.

While i understand the are factors such as VAT and import tax on anything shipped into the EU, the numbers still dont add up in a sufficient way.

Even with VAT added on, that would still only be £87.5 x 1.20: £105.

It doesnt look as there has been any conversion whatsoever, just a straight $=£ even though the dollar is trading at around $1=£0.7

Sales tax is a state by state thing. Some have it some do not. My state Oregon does not have sales tax. That $130 price is without any sales tax on anything. But if you go to Washington or Calafornia its like around 10%.

Yep, it's just a straight 1:1:1 conversion, price in € is also 130, and although that's a lot closer than the GBP pricing, it's still off.

I'd really like to think it was a mistake, that amount of a price increase is absolutely ridiculous. Even account for VAT and shipping costs, there is no need for that.

    It's not just sales tax.
Things shipped to the UK are taxed more. (directly and indirectly via fuel tax)
Profits made in UK as a business entity are taxed more.
Employees paid in the UK are taxed more.
    So yes it makes sense.

Not to mention the demand is lower, and when demand is lower price is higher.

If that was the case it would happen with all games. But it doesn't, every now and then a publisher does it, then they get called out on their bullshit every time. Not even the other Heavensward packages have the bs conversion, they have better conversions. Only the Physical CE is 1 to 1.

That being said, the other packages are technically rip offs too. $60 Games always RRP here for £40, and retailers end up selling at £35 or so. The $60 Digital CE, £45 in SE Land.

I'll just pass on the Dragon figure and get the digital one from a retailer that doesn't rip me off.

Everyone is talking about UK here, what was the price in Euro? or does it just show as £'s?

I only got on the site for a very brief moment, and I think I saw the prices in Euro, but I could be wrong... If it was in Euro, it was much cheaper than in pounds for sure...
