You know, being Legacy myself, I was GLAD they added the sylph goobbue. Back when they let players use mounts during the Beta alot of us Legacy tooled around on our minstrel goobbues because you only had to be level 20 to summon mounts in the Beta and we didn't have neither the Company chocobo nor the Legacy chocobo (that was awarded after 2.0 launched). Many players who were coded into the Beta pitched fits and created the rift in the community that would eventually result in Legacy players being server-locked. The sylph goobbue was a step by Square to show that the server-lock was now meaningless. The 'final difference' if you will because it wasn't a short few weeks after that we finally could leave the Legacy servers. I never understand how other Legacy players were getting upset, but then history forgotten is history repeated... Guess they forgot about the backlash in the Beta.

But you guys use that as a way to tease people, like some sort of an insult. Not a proper insult, but still being used as such. Is it necessary?
I still stand for what I say... we don't deserve anything on the same lvl as the legacy rewards because we're purchasing the expansion. 2.0 wasn't special, 1.0 was special because it was a bad game and players decided to trust the dev team and keep supporting it. We, 2.0 players, had the privilege of playing a polished and rather successful game.

So long nobody can get it anymore after 3.0 started. The players have to finish the 2.0 storyline before the 3.0 storyline go online.

The entitlement present in posts like these are what gets me. I'd like to see a limited event so that the players who started after the last limited events ended can have a chance to get exclusives that they can be proud of too. Nothing wrong with that.

I can understand why people want that special symbol to show loyalty or perhaps a special achievement. But why does the OP and others who want this special symbol even want to have it in the first place? Is it something to simply have, or is it a thing of completion?

You already have Louisoix from beating Final Coil. You already have Kirin from collecting every Primal Mount that isn't Nightmare, as well as Fenrir, perhaps the Apkallu minion too. There are status symbols in this game for everyone. They take a lot more effort than what is desired, perhaps, but they exist. You have pre-order bonuses and all sorts of items that show you've been here in this game for a while through bardings and minions.

Why this tattoo? What is so important about marking your character with it that makes you want it?

Edit: Hell, if you're lucky, you have the Cait Sith minion. I honestly don't know why I don't have it as a legacy player, but it is a gripe that continues to bother me. A very minor one, sure, but it is there.

A Different event with a different reward, fine. I have no qualms about that.

But asking for a Legacy reward like the Tattoo or something that has been handed out to loyal players is a slap in the face to those people who have paved the road for everyone else.

Btw, I am not a Legacy player, I am, however, tired of seeing people complain just because , like children, they see a toy someone else has, and want it to or they throw tantrums.

And some legacy type players need to get off their special snowflake pedestals. His idea is not a bad idea in that he's requesting something special on his character for the change from 2.x to 3.0. Just that it seems silly in that 3.0 is an expansion and not a game rehaul. His bringing the Legacy tattoo into the conversation was certainly not a good starter for the topic but the idea remains the same. He wanted something to show off that he was pre-3.0 as some players are going to come in 3.0 and beyond and he'll want them to know that he played for a much longer time.
