If they can't add enough houses to satisfy demand because their servers will light on fire, okay.

If they won't add enough houses to satisfy demand because they want to make that a system to balance out server loads/add something limited to the game then F that because that's poor design. It's not easy to transfer servers, so that is not how you balance populations. This is a flawed reason to restrict housing, and has created a broken system.

    Personal housing broke the system.

Because it wasn't meant to be mixed up with FC housing, but they rushed its release for whatever reason they had in mind.

If housing wards were still restricted to FCs, we wouldn't have that shortage issue.

I personally think they should go for a housing subscription fee.

    $2 more a month for a small
    $5 more a month for a medium'
    $10 more a month for a large

it would provide SE with an incentive to make more housing servers, and keep housing feeling "wanted"

That has to be the worst idea I've heard so far. :/ How do you even manage that with a FC house?

Which would completely screw over anyone that can't use creditcards to subscribe.

While I did originally choose Balmung for my Legacy account, I actually left because of the overcrowding. That being said, the analogy I am seeing here is quite ironic.

New players see Balmung locked out because of overcrowding. Player bypasses lockout by doing a server tranfer to "force" themselves into an overcrowded server. Player then proceeds to complain about the lack of resources due to overcrowding and blame SE. Irony.

"I just parachuted into the city even though it's been locked up tight and there's too many people. Wait. Why can't i find a place to live? This is the city's fault!"

And how exactly did you come to the conclusion that everyone who's "complaining" are new players that forced themselves onto the server? Been on Balmung since early access, and I've only recently started juggling with the thought of having my own FC with a few of my friends. The idea of having one house to share with them is more interesting to me than that of having one for myself alone.

Also, and this is to most nayers on this thread; Don't bother giving me (or anyone else) advice on what we should do instead. Or telling us we "should have made that decision faster". I think we've seen plenty of that in this thread now to know that it won't change people's minds.

I didn't. In fact, not once did I even insinuate that. I stated an irony. You assumed I meant everyone. Read what is actually said instead of what you think I said.

Either the FC leader would have to take it on, or they could set up a group pay system, perhaps through the mogstation. players from the fc, can then donate, even as little as a couple cents, towards the house. it would build community.

No more than the cash shop and the retainer services are already doing so. Housing should be a lot like retainers; you are paying additional, for additional server space.

What's wrong with buying a shell of an FC with a house? I mean sure, you can't rename it.. YET.. but if anything, that may be implemented in the future, or if houses can be traded in the future (which I think is already planned<?>) you can always swap it to your original FC..

Short of moving servers, that really may be your only option.

I bought a rank 8 FC with medium house for 4m gil. Of course, the circumstances were a little different but it happens(I mainly use it for gardening).. You can always change the tag, and everything else about the FC.. Except the actual name. It's not a bad place to start.
