oh my goodness, yes. Unruly, chaotic, random PvP. The ability to form Parties perhaps, but not mandatory. The great part about you being to just walk in/out of the Arena, is that if there's somebody dominating and it gets dull, everybody will leave, so the person dominating will leave, and then people can trickle back in.
This will be fun for a few days, but then like frontlines, people will stop playing once they see how pointless it is when A) there's too many factors that make playing it not fun and B) no incentives to keep people playing.
It might be good for practice. The dummies in wolves' den pier don't fight back and you can get practice with things like bind and knockback moves ect. I dont see many other bards use shadowbind/blastshot in pvp and its a shame. Although I agree it will get old after a while and probably seldom be used.
Pretty much this. I'd love for them to redo frontlines so I can actually get my ADS mount ;~;. 30m+ queues are suffering, on top of a very hit-or-miss win rate and that I can't even play with my friends...fuh. Unfortunately though they're still keeping the GC gimmick in heavensward from what I saw, so blargh...
Oh, and Wolves Den needs some love too.

I stopped doing frontlines because of queue times. . . which SE had sped up queue times for FL before, but they changed it to only 72-man when FL Savage came out and now there are massive queue times again. I'm a spoiled tank, if I don't queue in 10 minutes, I've already started crafting or something else and I withdraw before the queue pops.
I went to the Wolves Den on Ultros last night to buy some Wolfram Kite Shields to desynth for BC3's . . . and it was a ghost town. Once upon a time you would see people there b/c every time they exited the queue they'd be buying stuff n requeue-ing.
It even made me queue up for Wolves Den, and I got a "Average Queue time ???" so . . as above . . I withdrew.
Tanks would be god
Casters would be screwed
Melee would just derp around
I'm all for PVP, but without a party system, in XIV it's just too silly to work. Unless they reactivated animation lock for attacks, it's nothing but a derpfest.
It would be a mess, but it would be just for fun since you can walk in / out any time you please and there would be no reward involved
At least it had the dedency to not give you an ETA...I went to the Wolves Den on Ultros last night to buy some Wolfram Kite Shields to desynth for BC3's . . . and it was a ghost town. Once upon a time you would see people there b/c every time they exited the queue they'd be buying stuff n requeue-ing.

From another game I played, the struggle is real.
This imo should never be a reason to implement something. It'll eventually just die out. And if its going to be openworld like outside of more doughnuts, it'd be in the way of everything too.
