why the new area of heavenward are not suited for the 1-15? because the whole region is at war! a bloody war against dravanian....

why do people keep linking this when this came after what Spellbinder linked? This is false. People are misinterpreting what was said. He said you can't start a *new* level 1 character as DRK/AST/GNR, but when you unlock them they will still start at level 1.

I don't know why so many people want to think this. Wow only started doing it when the game was what, 11 year old? There's no way they would cut the small 1-30 grind from such a new-ish MMO.
My question is how they would explain starting a new job at level 15? Do we get a soulstone right off with all the preliminary knowledge?

There's enough changes to how they're doing Jobs that they might not be following the same structure for the Heavensward jobs. We might not get a soul stone. One could also make the argument that the job trainer teaches us how we can modify our existing skill set to "suit someone of X level proficiency". There's too many unknowns at this juncture to say anything definitive or decisive.
considering their desire to limit adding inventory space due to server concerns, it's very likely we won't have actual soulstones for the new jobs. At least, they won't be physical items.
That said, please no more starter areas. We already have 2-3 per city-state.
All I would really like to be able to do is the level 1-30 normal quests again, or at least the ones that I didn't get to do from other regions ie. I started in Limsa, I'd like to see the Grid and Uldah quest lines without having to make a new character.
Can you stop with Polygon articles? They're wrong 90% of the time. There's a reason why everyone, including NeoGaf never take Polygon articles seriously. They're always full of false information and horrible misunderstandings. This is false. People are misinterpreting what was said. We should make a forum-wide ban on all Polygon articles tbh.
Well Yoshida stated Heavensward has content for new players just starting the game as well, and is as big as any stand alone RPG game. I immediately thought of a new starter area as well since we are getting a new race. Very much like EQ2 does it.
If that's not the case I'm curious to see what new lowbie content there will be, and how the new race will be added. It'll be strange to see established players morph into dragon people all of a sudden. But ok.
Whether that's technically true or not..This is false. People are misinterpreting what was said. He said you can't start a *new* level 1 character as DRK/AST/GNR, but when you unlock them they will still start at level 1.

Doesn't having to level other classes to unlock the new classes mean that the new classes won't NEED starting zones?
Or do you expect people to do quests to level up to 15, or 30 or whatever it is to unlock the new classes.. then go BACK to their respective starting zones and do different quests from level 1 and on.. That seems like unnatural progression to me.
I find more immersion in finding a new dangerous war torn land not having Lv 1 sheep outside the broken gates and crumbling mortor. This expansion is supposed to be darker and more serious with an active war with DRAGONS going on all around you. It should start off a few steps up. For the xi vets, I see this more like treasures of aht urgan expac. New war torn land, beautiful and dangerous. The "starter" areas near the city were Lv 55 to 60 and only went up as you moved away.
