While I love VIII, there are probably other FFs that would be easier to have a XIV version type story of...like Necron and Kuja...think about all the Garleon experiments we could fight in a raid involving that.

All for it.

If this ever came about I think SE could really make an exciting final fight against Ultimecia, Griever, and like in FFVIII... Ultimecia joined with Griever and so on. Make it happen!![]()

Not to mention the people with the cloned names of FFVII players having an additional letter tacked on, or a changed spelling... I see those names and I'm thinking, "...you didn't even TRY." I mean, you name your character, and it sticks with you throughout the entire game! It identifies your character! I mean, you need to ask yourself, "What meaning does this name hold for me?" lol. A lot of the players in FFXIV lack originality, and it makes me roll my eyes or shake my head in disappointment. Seriously D: YES, I know you can change your name for a fee (they already implemented that, right?), but you know where I'm coming from. It took me several hours to plan what my name was going to be, lol.

*A* floating continent, not *the* Floating Continent from FFVI. There's also one in FFIII, and Sky in XI was essentially this as well. There is no evidence that this area will be directly lifted from VI or any other game.

Which is why "the best/worst x" is subjective. I personally love both VIII and II. A resurgence of Triple Triad by SE themselves was a dream come true and I would love to see more shout outs to VIII in the future.

One day, The Doctor will appear in my garden, and I will travel with him !
(I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!)

However, due todisc space eaten to fit more FMVsTime Kompression, after you unlock it all the cities and aetheryte camps will be walled off to you forever.
Too true. Usually I hear that VIII was the worst Final Fantasy, not second worst. On my way up through the US game releases on NES, SNES, and Playstation, VIII was the only one that I just quit in the middle and only finished a year later as a completionist OCD exercise. It was the battle system - junctioning was a terrible idea, or maybe it was a good idea but implemented very badly. The only other time I gave up on a Final Fantasy that quick was XIV 1.0.
Then again, I also had a hard time with VI once the World of Ruin opened up, which seems to be the holy land for other FF players, and found IV to be the best game in the numbered series because you never had to choose your team - you just got to play through a fairly straightforward story (only minor sidequests) with interesting characters and a fun battle system.
