Yeah. Too bad by and large you don't actually get a grasp of how a lot of classes play until level 30-ish usually.
We also have direct translations saying new players will be able to start the game out with the new classes. So I think at this point saying it is one way or the other is kind of moot.

From a personal perspective id think it would be stupid to have them start at say level 50 - you'd have people unable to play certain jobs at end game level...
I would love to level them from level 1, but if I had to choose id say level 30 seems a good middle ground.
I've got a feeling SE hasn't decided yet how to let us start the new jobs. In fact, I think they still work on class/job system adjustments. I hope we'll know more soon.
There could also be a lot of miscommunication on the questions asked.
Someone may have said it requires level X to unlock the new jobs, which is easy to misunderstand as starts at level X.

Well... you can't get any existing job stone before level 30, so level 30 seems like an obvious place to start with the new ones as well.

This is very strange. In the interview with FF14 Reddit, Yoshi-P stated catagorically that these new jobs will not start at lvl 1, and that they have not finalised the lvl that they will start at. Source http://www.reddit.com/r/ffxiv/wiki/pax_2015_interview
I will go with the FF14 Reddit interview answer personally.
EDIT: this thread also cites sources that confirm the new jobs not starting at lvl1 also

I don't think it really matters, you learn to play from when the job is given to you, it really depends if you take the time to read every skill carefully and play with the class before you jump straight into a dungeon or not.

Heh, it won't be the case but part of me hopes it will be possible to sneak my Lancer, Pugilist and Archer to level 60 by putting Astrologian, Dark Knight and Machinist on top of them.

Some problems with this:
- There are plenty of people who leveled up from 1 who don't know the first thing about how to play their job.
- Jobs at level 50 don't play quite the same as they do at earlier levels. How you play with all of your abilities is something you need to learn then. What worked before may not make sense now.
- You don't need to level up/run dungeons to learn your job to begin with. It's not like leveling up itself teaches you how to play. Have you been in low level dungeons? Plenty of people just looking to get carried. Same as for endgame content.
- Competent players would have no problem learning how to play their job if you just gave them a max level character right from the get.
etc.
