I just hope if they do a PS3 release and/or Xbox as well that they don't hold Computer players back. It stinks how they refused to do many things on FFXI with the excuse of "due to Playstation 2 limitations". Have FFXIV on other systems fine, but don't pigeon hold us to their limitations.

You PC fanboys need to remember what FF is, a console franchise. Those PS2 limitations were mostly due to the tiny hard drive. It won't be an issue with today's consoles.

Whats the reason to make this game bad for new players? Sorry, my english isn't that good, I played from the day it released and I still play, u got that now? The game has some challenges now and it will be better from time to time. I had more fun with this game then I ever had with FFXI. Some people want to enjoy this game over a long time and dont need to have all the stuff seen after one day. And i'll repeat: u still dont have to pay a shit to play this game.

WOW you played for an hour and loved it MY god Stop the presses the rest of us must be all morons then. This game is still in horrid condition, it leaks memory like a paraplegic on a colostomy bag, the UI interface still runs like crap taking 5-10 seconds at times to accept commands, the billing issues still have not gotten sorted out have not even been addressed for that matter on the NA forums, You still cannot invite kick promote or demote members of a LS without standing next to them. I mean my god really should I continue those are just the 4 top things off the top of my head.

....... ok so i can't wait for the ps3 release (though I may only play the pc verson)... but i play the game right now on the pc and i know there are problems.... but I personally haven't had much for complaints...... I also know the forums are how the developers get idea's but it still gets me how people love to bash the game..... If you don't like it stop playing.... if you have problems and want them to listen go to the correct forum area and post in a positive way how the game can be changed. don't be rude to others just because they don't see it your way...

I love how they are attempting to cater to the masses and I think it's great people are waiting to play the game on a console.... and I do hope when it does come out for the ps3 that it will be on the standards of ffxi or at least close.... and then all the whiners can find something else to complain about....

I understand the frustration that people are feeling about the PS3 release delay, and repeating a post does not make an opinion any more correct than the opinion of the person before you >.>

However, as much as I would love to have all my friends that only play on console (and who are waiting for the PS3 release) to be able to join me after not having played with them for ~11 months since I quit FFXI, I don't think that rushing a PS3 release - even free to play- would do SE any favours in my opinion.

The game has suffered a lot of bad press, a lot of people quitting, and a lot of changes over the past year. It is a lot better than it was, but still needs a lot of issues addressing. It is "not that bad", but it is not that great either.
Will releasing this version on PS3 now encourage the large scale loyal playerbase they need to play, and continue to play, for when they do eventually get to the point of charging subscription? I don't know. In my opinion they are doing the correct thing in waiting to release the game further (i.e. onto other consoles) until the playerbase they still currently have playing this "beta" on PC are more content with the progression of the game and are willing to pay for a product that should have been released in the first place.

It is not a perfect game.
Yoshi P and his team are no doubt working very hard to make this into a game that people can enjoy.

In my humble opinion, there are 2 things that can greatly affect whether or not people enjoy FF14.
1. Your goals and purpose for playing
2. Your expectations of what an MMORPG "should" be

Goals.
If you are the type of player that likes to race through a game -- getting as many items and growing in power as quickly as possible, you may be very disappointed with FF14.
If you are outgoing and play for the social part of being a part of an online game community, and you are okay with taking the slow scenic route -- it is very possible that you may enjoy the game greatly.

Expectations.
People here seem to be very experienced gamers and with their experience come expectations about what a game should be. I think it's safe to say that FF14 is different in many ways. There are things it does very well, and there are things it does rather poorly. What you get out of it really depends on your tolerance for things that aren't a perfect match to your way of thinking.


Despite what you can see from the forums, there are quite a few people who are indeed enjoying the game. I know quite a few people like that, and I have the privilege of playing with them every day. ^^

Of course.. sorry for repeating posts but mobile phone version of forum failed. And there's no option to edit or delete a post. I like the fundamental aspects of the game and I know they will improve many things. Thats all I need to know.
