If Garleans (and Allagans for that matter) can make war machines that look more complicated than a car... then I'm pretty sure they can build a car.

Why does everyone think that since there were cross-over events with previous Final Fantasy Titles that they are inclined to add more?
Yoshi-P said the crossover event for FFXIII was a special case that was a collaboration between the two directors.
The FFXI/Dragon Quest X crossovers were an anniversary thing celebrating FFXIV, FFXI, and Dragon Quest X; their three main money making MMO's.
Granted there will be costume, mount, and hairstyle crossovers as seen with the two new hairstyles introduced; but they will not have any direct story/quest related flavor to them.
People need to understand the FFXIII crossover event was a special instance to promote FFXIII Lightning Returns and there likely will not be another like it in the near future.
I believe also that Yoshi-P stated that if there is to be a future crossover that it will need to be somewhat lore abiding and not break the lore so much that it ruins the game play for other players.
FFXV adding anything into FFXIV with cars and such is absolutely ridiculous and I hope it never gets implemented. We have Airships as seen in a previous image of a Garlean Fleet and magiteck robots; which the latter has been in the game since 1.0 because it's lore appropriate to the Garleans.
Please stop asking for crossover events whenever there is a new Square-Enix title announced..

^This. Everyone listen to this man, he gets it.Why does everyone think that since there were cross-over events with previous Final Fantasy Titles that they are inclined to add more?

The previous events were actually exceptions rather than the rule. The FFXIII event was actually a result of a private joke shared at E3 between Yoshi and Toriyama (as well as cross-marketing for the FFXIII-tie-in title). The FFXI event was a crossover celebrating FFXI's eleventh anniversary of service. The Dragon Quest event was similarly to celebrate DQX's first anniversary of service (it was also the previous title Yoshi worked on.).
These all have some meta connection to FFXIV's development besides pointless fanservice. FF Type 0 or any other FF game don't. Hence, no crossover events for them. And there probably never will be, for good reason.

Type-0 is like, PSP era dood. It's old.
Also. I'm not sure if it has to be an event, specifically. I mean, they could just as easily put in outfits and call it a 'crossover'. The only thing it's missing is a lore explanation, which as we've seen with their Cloud Outfit reward, isn't that important. At some point or the other, XIV is going to have either a crossovers or outfits for anyone's favorite Final Fantasy characters/ creatures. I don't doubt that one bit.
