every other thread on this says it only happens when roysia (at tranquil) or alfgar are up. Other people have camped it all day and never seen it.

Who cares? If they can't sustain the content they will loose all 1.5 million of those people as subscribers. MMO's need to deliver to be sustainable.
XIV isn't at that point, and Star Wars looks to be painting itself into a corner it can't get out by pretty much promising content that can't be produced in a realistic time frame.
No matter the budget, Voice acting, multiple dialogue trees take alot of time to do. Once that gimicks gone what is SWTOR? A bad WoW clone from what I've seen.

On topic of the post, I've seen alfgar up multiple times in one day in Ul'dah at least 3 times in the span of a few hours.
Are you sure you were at the right place? I didn't have any problems finding it either.time management is my reasoning. Spend time putting things in the game that everyone will experience and enjoy instead of little things that a few people will do and then forget about. If they cloned this and had it happening lets say every hour at a diff camp around the world -THAT- would be a good idea. But occuring once every day or 2 is essentially pointless.
Actually there is. When it happens in Tranquil the attackers are coming from the north, which suggests they're coming out of Gridania rather than working towards Gridania. In actuality, they should be coming from the east in the first place, but it doesn't really matter since they have airships - but they shouldn't becoming from the north.
Another problem is that the mobs are rank 25, which suggests its an event intended for low level players, but the playerbase of the game can't support completing the objective with rank 25ish players [aka, there aren't enough around], nor do they award exp for those players who do try to participate in the event. Ultimately it just ends up being rank 50s blowing through the mobs to collect the crystals.
It's a nice attempt, but has some sloppy execution with it. I appreciate that they did it, but they just need to think the mechanics through further in the future.
I hope they add higher level versions of this, that would be awesome!
