does anyone else feel like this is kind of cheap/annoying? i know that square enix isn't above marketing FFXIV as something above it's station, but i feel like this was an intentional decision to make FFXIV look like it had substance/unique characters.

most fans of this game don't even know who she is and can only really identify characters they've already seen in other games, or characters that tell the same joke and contort their faces for an entire patch cycle. i just wish they hadn't put a rep in at all or used hildibrand and shown off the true value of FFXIV, which is as a parody of all of the other games.

kinda shows that they don't understand their player-base if they think people are here for characters like y'shtola instead of laughing at the same screenshot of the epic funny awesome dude himself. it makes me worried that we might get more people in the community who value things like narrative and world building instead of half-hearted attempts at viral content. i hope they don't take my memes away.....................

Well Y'shtola has a unique moveset compared to other characters except for maybe Terra.

I'm a bit annoyed that they're no longer making dissidia games for psp.

I know lol psp and all, but 012 and dissidia were great games in their own right, even forgetting about any FF affiliation. I'm figuring, like most arcade-only releases, the chances of a western audience getting to play this are zero.

Given the other two Dissidia games, I think there might be more than just one characters from XIV besides Y'shtola. Like how FFIV has Cecil, Kain and Golbez. I'm kinda hoping for Thancred with him using 2 daggers as his EX mode.

Going with the grain of "one good, one evil" I'd be more happy to see Lahabrea. His ex-mode would be freaking nasty, and if it were a game like the last two for handheld, him talking down to 99% of chaos' crew, or even questioning chaos himself (given zodiark, etc) would be iiiinteresting. Even more interesting would be how they hashed out similarities with Ivalice-- and what exactly he'd think of FF1's Warrior of Light.

Most Arcade fighting games in Japan eventually get ported to home consoles in some form or another. Judging by the graphics (if that really is how its going to be in-game), there's a chance it'll get ported to PS4 and maybe Xbone if it ever heads west/if it gets ported to consoles.
