Stoneskin the new cure?

In my last WoD today I had a fellow whm who would literally only cast stone skin. I get using stone skin on a tank before a big hit but he was just stone skinning constantly. His gear was mostly 90 and in the end it felt like I solo healed the whole raid. The 8 of us almost wiped on several occasions but we got lucky. There are times when stone skinning the whole party mid fight can be useful (xande during the meteor part) but sch are mitigation healers. Whm are healer healers.

I didn't said you were, what i said is that when mobs are stunned regen will heal the tank by quite heavy amounts, so putting that extra stoneskin is unnecessary.

I don't bother using Regen or Stoneskin at all while I am using Holy. I get my two stuns out of the way before I top off my tank (except for an occasional Bene or I'll jump out of CS if they really need it).

If you're a SCH not using SS shame on you

I don't know... most of the time when I use Adlo and it doesn't crit it tends to wear off by the time SS finishes casting. If it crits I'll follow it up with a SS if SC is up so I can get more DPS in.

As for the main topic I tend to avoid SS as a WHM in battle unless I need to use it to prevent some big incoming damage. Cure II heals more HP than SS shields for on the average tank for the same amount of MP. If I'm with a tank with a huge amount of HP to make SS match my Cure II (about 12,000 HP currently) then I'll use SS more liberally and stay in CS more often to squeeze in more DPS. MP becomes a bit of an issue at that point however so never on long fights. It's also very rare that I run into this situation as it takes a high ilvl WAR without echo or a high ilvl PLD with Echo and even then should the WAR pop their RHP buffs in addition to Defiance then Cure II becomes better than SS again.

Hmmm in WoD I do tend to try and keep SS up on all members as time and damage permits. Too many people run around in there blind and eat everything and anything that comes their way. But that doesn't exclude me poping a medica/medica II and cure/cureII/III as needed as well.

The upped stoneskin prevents wipes at 4 stacks on cloud as well. As tanks barely check her n think of their beautiful limitbreak (saved a lot of WoDs, Garuda EXs, Levi Exs with it D: )

Tanks have such a powerful LB, but they never seem to use it. I understand there are only certain times when it should be used (like the healer LB) but still. I feel like there's an unspoken rule that everyone just leaves the LB for the DPS, which is okay in most content but... There have been a lot of times I have wondered why the tank(s) wouldn't LB, and we wipe.

I actually prefer it when the other healer is DPSing or just plain AFK, gives me something to do! It drives me crazy when I get into WoD and do more tanking than the spineless PLD/WAR in my group, so boring when it's like that =(

Why didn't SCH get the Enhanced Stone Skin ? Isn't our job mitigation lol (jealous SCH speaking)

Because SCH has a more potent shielding skill(Crit Adlo).

Nope, I never applied SS to any raid content , dungeon, and frontline. Because succor and adlo is more useful than SS imo and those people who run with me never complain about "y u no SS"

I burn the LB bar the moment it is maxed out. If you need tank LB to survive (WoD wipe scenario) then you might as well wipe. It is likely the other two alliance will wipe as well.
