    Thunder was worth only about 5% (Maybe less) of your damage back then. It was only worth using with Contagion. When Contagion is down, its was hard to justify using it for its MP cost.

    Thunder is/was 240 potency (18s dot so 6 ticks, 35 pot ticks, 6x 35 potency, 30 initial hit) skill for 212 mp, while ruin is 80 potency for 79MP, ruin x3 = 240 potency + 237 mp. So you are saying Ruin is also useless and not worth MP.

    Even without contagion it was "cheaper" to use, not to mention all the breaks in fights let your mp regen anyway so MP wasnt issue.

    But yea, mrhappy guide says it so people will believe it lol. He also says shadowflare is useless apart from opener.

    I dunno, I remember it murdering my MP. This was in T4 though... where I would cast it on everything that moves anyway so... eh.

    I distinctly remember Mr. Happy's Summoner guide being completely terrible. I recall it promoted Ifrit use... back when Ifrit was even worse.

    And funnily enough, Ifrit is now the stronger of the 2 summon choices for single target damage! He has been steadily buffed and is now extremely useful for many fights.
