The reason why some story mode is still hard for beginners is the level-synch. Regardless what someone wear in Titan (story), his gear will be max. ilevel 36.
In Titan (hard) is no ilevel-synch. So you will have people, who are ilevel 110, in a fight balanced around ilevel 70.
Hopefully that get changed in 3.0, if people over lv50 get also there a level-synch.

I doubt you can ignore the nails in the Ifrit fight and his AoE attacks.

You can either choose to overpower with gear or to cry because oneshot mechanics!
Example Garuda: The AoE from adds are not easygoing if you dont overpower them... there was a reason why we had 2 tanks back then in 2.0
Example Ifrit: The nails were oftn wiping the party because not enough damage done to them, we had to use AoE limit break 3 back in 2.0
    and so on...

It is smart from SE to counter the oneshotmechanics with gear progress, but that results in overpowering and ignoring the mechanics!
They should have changed the mechanics and not trying to be smart, it backfires sooner or later (when too much damage result in wiping because skiping phases as we see in coil)

If you want to see overgeared players failing on simple mechanics, just try T5. Those divebombs... Apparently, "stay in the pit and hug the wall" is to complicated for a vast majority of them.

The few times I tried we never had issues with the dive bombs, but people panicked when the snakes spawned =)

Haha, I know what you mean. I DF'ed T5 so many times, and there was always a DPS to stand outside of the pit. It was depressing. I think people are so used to faceroll previous content that they think they can just facetank Twintania with their ubergear and still win. Then they hit a wall.

Don't worry about it. The primals are "easy" now because there are people who farm it for: Light (Nexus quest) or Demimateria (crafting stuff). If they (we) weren't, you'd probably tear your hair out at the abysmally long queues and the constant wipes. No one with a decent item level @ endgame would do Hard Mode primals, especially the three old ones (Ifrit, Garuda, Titan) if not for Light and Demimateria, or perhaps occasionally to help their friends. As more content is added, the older content naturally becomes easier.

If you really want to go through content "normally", I suggest putting up a party finder ad for "no cutscene skipping" and "slow and easy". Or go with friends.

You don't even need to beat all the nails now on Ifrit HM, you can leave 1 up and get free dps on Ifrit until he jumps.

One thing you have to take into consideration is that these primals were the first 'hard mode primals' that existed back when the game was released. There have been more hm primals added to the game over time, and while these aren't terribly hard either - which is good, because in the end these are story fights which are needed to progress the main scenario - they are way less facerollable then ifrit and garuda hm.

If you want a challenge OP, try extreme primals. These are optional, and while for the older ones the dps checks/heal checks/hp checks are quite non-existant with the current ilvl, you still need coordination and have to execute mechanics properly in order to not wipe the raid.

Nexus lights don't help either. Garuda HM was on bonus last night so every queue for that resulted in everyone charging right at her. One run last night both tanks looked new (I think OP might have been one of them. I remember seeing the Giantsgall), and as soon as the barriers came down a healer was running in aggroing her before the tank could jump in.

Extremes will be much more enjoyable for newer players as the mechanics still need to be learned and dealt with.
