Only if you job lock str accs so tanks can't dps either. Also no more penta meld accs. If you wanna pigeon hole every class even more into the triad, then don't discriminate.
Cleric stance is vital in raid and dungeons, and yes I like to say I'm a "SMN healing" plenty of times. Obviously a healer should heal first DPS second, but if you can help with the DPS why the heck not? Healer should NOT be required to, but I do NOT like sitting around doing nothing, and spamming a few holy at the right time is a fun thing to do. The only trade off is the mp will need time to regenerate after the mob goes down quickly. Time wise it might be wash, but you get fun intense bursts followed by a bit of down time, of course if you got a bard or two with ballad the music does not have to stop.

No. Although it may feel like a requirement in most situations now for a healer to dps, it is still at your discretion. As a healer you should be aware of impending damage and can prepare for that. Most times in dungeons when dps is low...because geared dps in df seem to lose the ability to do their one job...cleric stance can help clear trash at a better pace. Raids are a little bit different but any dps contribution is good. I sense the underlying tone that everyone shouldn't expect the same thing from all healers as far as dpsing/healing. People have different play styles and the reason most people choose to main heal is because they like healing more so than dps. It doesn't make you any less of a good player, however, finding a balance is always respected.
Because healers aren't constantly healing. Tanks are constantly tanking (or, if they're off-tanking, they're dealing damage). DPS are constantly dealing damage (or, sometimes jumping in to throw out a physick as a BLM or a Resurrection as a Summoner when things are going badly). When a healer isn't healing, they can dps. And they need cleric stance to do that (like how a paladin has sword oath and a warrior can turn off defiance when off-tanking). They are given the skill for a reason.True, but if we didn't have cleric stance it wouldn't be as expected of us to DPS because our performance wouldn't be as good. The reason I made this thread is because there are many instances where healers have a lot on there plate with the healing and it feels unfair to have to do the job of the other jobs. Why should healers dps if the dps don't heal, nor tank and the same applies to tanks they don't heal they just dps because its required to do their job.
Um....hell no?

I am not surprised this became a thread. How absurd.

Yep, let's kill the single good thing in the whole battle system.
We need more stances like Cleric, not less.

Im not against healers dpsing, im just against this new way of thinking that healers should be excepted to dps especially in things they don't feel comfortable healing yet. I had a dps tell me to dps in T9 while obviously the whole party was taking heavy damage now if they removed cleric stance it wouldn't mean that you couldn't dps just that it would even out the playing field between the healers that dps and the ones that don't because currently cleric stance is a big dps bonus.

As a player who believes healers shouldn't be forced to DPS, disabling Cleric's Stance is one of the worse ideas I've ever heard.
Some of the best parts of playing a healer is having the knowledge and ability to stance dance effectively. Optimizing this aspect of a healer is immensely fun and I wouldn't want it any other way.
