Zodiac Weapon quest. leaving it till RNG update.

Hey all \o I like working on my relic, grinding for Light/Alex wasn't so bad and yes the RNG Atma was a pain but you could just get right down to it but at the most I hate how much RNG is involved in this quest.

The main reason why I don't like the RNG is because it's not based on skill but luck, I've done 3 WP to get the item while my friend has done 18 runs for his, 3 VS 18?_?

So after running CP HM for the 4th time now and no item just the thought of all the other 10 dungeons I need to do I'm like screw that. I don't wana waste my time on a weapon that someone luckier then me got it waaay before me but started waaay after me and it's just not fun running these dungeons for a small chance. Maybe if it was 4 or 6 dungeons then yeah but nearly all of them? that's a piss take I find. So I'm leaving it till they update the drop rate for dungeons.

Anyone else leaving this in the same manner as I am?

And where were you when Atmas had low drop rates? What about the people who farm coil for the drops and never get them? You're playing the wrong game if you think an MMORPG doesn't have some form of RNG.

It happens, when doing the quest you have to look at it from less of a straight line perspective and consider how you can micro manage each goal. yes it sucks to do WP but on the same note you need a total of 80k GC seals for the Bombard Core. The junk i60 or so loot you get from lesser dungeons can be exchanged for about 600-800 seals so you are still building towards your relic quest.

For me the quest were a lot easier to digest when I considered how much could I cram into one thing I am doing atm, if I need x item from this dungeon I'll also collect gear that no one else wants and get GC for it since even if I get all the dungeon items I still need a total of 80k GC seals, 6.4k soldiery tomes, 8 different HQ craft items, believe 400k gil spent to NPC. For first time relic hunters the 6.4k can't be done beforehand so once you start that portion even if you had a cap of 2k soldier you'd still need to earn 4.4k through dungeons and roulette.

But of course pushing to hard it's easy to burn out so best thing you can do rather than just give up is just take a step back and do other things, get back to it on a more casual level and it will feel less strenuous since think about, you already went through the light farming and that in itself was a rather long grind of time what pain is it to just throw the die at dungeons and get that fun feeling when it finally drops lol.

I think the RNG for the last relic quest was pretty well designed. Most people should be getting their last dungeon atma very near the point of getting the last of the Sol needed. Just my experience as well as that of many others I've talked to. Of course, I understand that there are extreme outliers.

4 times? Really? The zodiac quest is not hard in the slightest, it is a MINOR grind compared to a lot of the pre-nerf relic steps before it.

The need to complain about the relics never ends. Running the dungeons aren't that big a deal. Even multiple runs help you with turnins for seals and tomes for Sacred Spring Water. The zodiac run is certainly a lot more fun than grinding light in my opinion.

The drop chance of Zodiac items is just about fine.
RNG is involved in every MMO, deal with it.

Is it really? damn I'll be sure to keep write that down. Some form of RNG I don't mind this part of the quest I think is a little too much. That's just my preference.

Why so interested into where I was? And dose any of the questions have any relevance to the topic at all? but yeah I farmed T8 for my shield, and other turns. I was around for when Atma was low, *boring but not as bad as dungeons I find* but I can't have a thought about how I dislike the RNG in dungeons? And one last thing, the point to all your questions was what? Besides making it look like you seem to know what type of player I am but just making wrong assumptions.

But as most people seem to see this as moan, I'm more expressing how I feel about it.

In this MMO, the relic weapon is just optional. Not necessary.

To obtain the relic weapon, you have to go thru some ridiculous feats and one of those feats requires you to go against crazy odds, also known as RNG.

You don't seem to be too willing to go against those odds, that is your problem.

You want it, but clearly not enough that your willing to go against the odds for it.

There's no such thing as well designed RNG. It's called random for a reason.

To be honest, the whole relic quest is full of really terrible design choices. Think about how it starts. We get a weapon, we meld it, we kill enemies, we fight primals and unique bosses. We get Thavnarian Mists from tomes...

...and then it all falls apart to RNG. Atma's can take hours to find even with the new 'enhanced' drop rates, Fates for Animus books can take hours just to show up, Dying to the last boss forces you to redo the dungeons. Then you need 75 alexandrite. Then light farming, which is arguably the most frustratingly lengthy part of the whole quest. And that's before this new latest step and it's RNG drop rates.

Honestly, I don't know why people keep defending it. A bad mechanic is a bad mechanic. It's what developers do when they either don't have the time or the inclination to add something with more meat to it. They have so many better means at their disposal, as proven with countless other quests and items. Apparently some lessons are never learned no matter how many mistakes are made.
