While I do hate the whoel free trial / free login weekends thing... I'm not going to enter in my personal info even into a trusted site just for the purpose of this.
Its not that I dont want people to become hooked on the game and then subscribe. Its that we get so many free-loaders who wants to rush content during the free periods who ruin the experience for others. Its so bad I have to avoid duty finder for those weekends.

This doesn't mean anything. For ARR, you are directly connecting to a server in Canada that is maintaining communication with thousands of players constantly, whereas CoD's servers only handle matchmaking. During gameplay in CoD, the players are directly connected to each other. The 2 network types are not comparable.

2. Sounds interesting, looks interesting... check steam... 25 bucks... eh maybe, not a lot of money but eh... someday.

hell, this is the first sub game I've played that DIDN'T require that I enter sub payment info before getting into the game after buying the box... That was nice.

1. Give separate servers to trial players.
2. If not give preferential access to player customers.

1. This is far too much effort for too little reward. Many games have tried this method in the past an ended up scrapping it due to lack of interest. People who get free trials will usually want to get a feel of the game's ACTUAL community or, y'know, PLAY WITH THEIR FRIENDS. Thus, this will never, ever happen. Ever.
2. This...doesn't make any sense either. Free trials are already restricted. Being told you're not allowed to play because you're not paying is a disincentive to actually wanting to pay for the game. Plus it's the kind of dreck that F2P games pull on their customers, and that's not the atmosphere FFXIV has.

And again as people mentioned COD's servers are used for matchmaking, and they're far, FAR smaller with fewer overall assets than the persistent world of FFXIV. Ever wonder why MMO graphics even from AAA companies like Bethesda are more simplistic than games like COD? It's to cut down on lag. You're not connecting to the same room as ~10 other people, you're connecting to the same "room" as ~5000 people per server.

I`m also a player from Chile, and i have to say it , yes we have lag, but it`s just because we are pretty far from the servers, and there`s absolutely no proof of what you are saying, actually sounds like a pretty stupid reason.

I have a decent internet connection and according the Window`s resource monitor i play with 180-220 ms of ping which is completely playable, except when you have to dodge stuff, like on titan extreme where you need the reflexes of a shaolin monk...

It was about a year ago before 2.0 was released.

During that time Yoshi-P mentioned they have already planned the Main Scenario all the way up to 4.0 already so they have a plan on what they will release but not time when they will release the planned contents.

FF14ARR is planned to support PS3 until 3.X era and once 4.0 is released they plan on ending PS3 support depending on how things turn out.

I just hope they learned enough from FF11 as to not be locked into a console. While the engine can always be replace on a pc its harder to do so for a port. Hopefully the graphics were down throttled, that way if need be, it can be cranked up in the future to extend its life. Or they could crash another moon into the planet and reboot it as a ps4, ps5 & pc title for 5.0.
