Haha lol just leave rng alone and let 3.0 make life easier.
Your fault u wanted to go thru the rng not the devs. They simply gave u a choice.

Well I once mentioned that the only way they could really keep these old relics and not massively destroy any hope of a newcomer starting the quest would be to continuously ease the requirements for each stage as they are currently doing, then when almost all the stages are trivial to the point where the whole questline from relic to final form is no longer or more difficult than 2 stages of the previous upgrades. Then considering this would take about 4 patch cycles by the time something like 3.4 rolls along the new level 60 relics could then have a quest to upgrade to the next stage that requires you to complete the old relic and combine thus allowing people who have already done so before to almost "skip" that stage and people that haven't it will have been nerfed to a grind only slightly worse than normal.
Otherwise I can't imagine they would keep it as it is because not only does it make it extremely unlikely that anyone except the most hardcore would attempt to get relics for the new jobs not to mention by the time they got the relic to a serviceable level (start > current stage + next stage + stage to 60 etc..) you would probably have spent a significant amount of time compared to someone who probably just picked up a drop from a new extreme primal in about a few days. Then you have the newcomers who just get to 60 and then look a their weapon options and one option says you have to spend over 100 hours doing junk old content to get a junk old weapon which after another 50-100 hours might be useful. Or just pick up this Grand company weapon until you get a drop from an EX primal or the new 24 man raid.
Imagine if they continued this quest and new jobs come in 4.0 or whatever do you expect someone who takes up a new job in 4.0 to not only complete two whole sets of year long GRIND quest lines to then get a weapon that's usable, eventually it would just become a no go area for anybody except ones that previously have obtained the weapon.
Finally I do believe that anyone that has been devoted enough to grind to the very end of this quest should be rewarded somehow, although I can't think of a reward that wouldn't either make the quest line mandatory for everyone else (new abilities/traits) or just a kick in the teeth for all the hard work, (minions, titles) perhaps a combination of a job specific mount, minion, title, trophy(housing) and perhaps a set of vanity clothing. Someone mentioned new animations which would be neat but I'm not sure how much extra dev work that would need.

They can pull TITAN hard mode out of the original relic quest anytime and it won't bother me a bit. I've stopped right there because it's too much work for just your starter relic - at that stage in your progression.

Hmmm, not sure if trolling or clearly asking that 3.0 box and contents will be something looking like :

If not trolling, no wonder why we don't have more interesting side-quests to do if a majority of players are thinking this way :x
The amount of time that the current quests take, it should give some sort of boon for the players who have finished it all the way for the 3.0 equivalent (whether it be bonus cosmetics or easing up the initial step). At the same time, players shouldn't be required to do the 2.0 questline to have access to the 3.0 one.
Not trolling lol just thinking tht if u think about it if se took out all the rng in the relic how easy would it be to complete?
Se really went out of their way to try & confuse us with the difference of real skill dependent difficulty vs artificial difficulty that is rng.
So honestly i hope they just start fresh cuz if they don't then ppl in 3.0 ffs will have to go thru the rng bs we went thru.
Unless if u guys actually want new players to suffer then just wow wtf
The relic quests end technically with the 2.4 step, where we turn our Relic weapon into a Zodiac weapon
And I think there is a good chance that there would be a Zodiak upgrade questline in 3.0, with the Zenith Zodiak coming in 2.51 ^^
I think the best way would be for you to be able to start 60 relic just straight from 60, but if you progressed 50 relic, you need to do less steps
as in, reach last resort>get new relic in less than 2 hours
new player hit 60, no old relic progression> maybe like 5 hours to a few days
but titan hard is so easy

tbh I'd be kind of bothered if they kept the old relic process for new jobs only because it feels like old content. My assumption has always been that there will be a completely new "ultimate weapon" quest chain and the new jobs will skip right to that one since they weren't around for the original relic or something. I've been slowly stockpiling materials for new job relics just in case the quest is (unfortunately) the same.
I think most old school players will agree with what somebody early in rhe thread said. The relic quest line is the only long term super investment Ala FF11. This I'd what makes FF stand out from all the other easy mode MMOS. lall the other Mmos are typically just get to cap raid and pvp. FF has so much more and that's why I love it. If anything we need more long term difficult content. Yoshi has already said our relics are going to be relevant in Heavensward. This hint should be enough to realize that leveling your relic won't be for Naught. I currently am using the 110 soldiery Liberator on my Drg taking a break from Animus farming but I'm glad it's still there for me to do.
Sorry for typos driving typing on phone
