    I guess the real idea of it was to maintain challenge in old content. Usually in an MMO over time old content just becomes obsolete so nobody is ever doing them but to keep a flow of new players you need to be able to keep content they need for things populated so they upped rewards for old content while using an ilvl sync to not ruin the experience of doing them. What is fun about face rolling everything by out gearing it? It's still a face roll with the ilvl sync anyway it doesn't really make a difference. There is a constant flow of new content coming so people are always farming it and not doing old content for much other than roulettes. They would need to change roulettes to even make it work. What would be the point of low level roulette when level 50's just one shot everything and lower levels get zero experience from it? It ruins the point of the reward for 50's in the first place. This is also why they made it single queue i imagine so 50's can't queue together and get the reward cutting out players doing it for EXP and learning.

    It's the same with other content what is the point of making it too easy because of gear so newer players have no need to learn the instance and improve? MMO's by nature are a collective experience but it feels like a lot of people are selfish in what they want from the game. I personally prefer older content still being playable over it being worthless a few months after release and then needing to be replaced quickly with content eventually being removed because it's so pointless it became empty in the queue.

    I don't know if it works the same way for over 50 content, sense afaik there is now white gear of that ilevel.

    Honestly I'm not against the iLvl synch as much as it's poor handeling. At iLvl 110, my Paladin can SOLO Stone Vigil hard mode. THE WHOLE THING. But Normal Stone Vigil on the other hand is actually more chalanging because of the streight up level synch sown to lvl 46 or 47 I think it is. This automatically robs me of Hallowed Ground, Circle of Scorn, and my last cross skill slot IN ADITION to massivly nerfing my gear stats.

    So does it need to go? No not really. It juist needs to be exicuted alot better. Possibly synching you no less than 30 or so levels. Thus the 2.4 i80 dungeons would be 110 the 70 dungeons 100 and the level 55-60 content for early progression would lower us to an apropriate iLvl 90 which would keep that content challenging.

    I don't think how ever that my idea would aply to EX primals as the ilvl 80 Titan is easily more than a match for 8 iLvl 120 hard core raiders when they fail to work togeather properly.

    The item level sync is only syncing is down to, what, i110? ...for dungeons that are already considerably below i110 to get through. Things will still be run swiftly. Also, pretty sure there are people who also run new content for minions. Correct me if I'm wrong, though, on either point.

    Coming from another MMO that had no item sync/high levels steamrolled lower dungeons.. I much prefer the sync system. How are low level players (new or trying a new class) supposed to learn their role if a level 50 player comes in and flies through it all? I've seen plenty of complaints about people who leveled only from FATEs/leves and can't tank/heal worth anything.. I see removing sync as making that issue worse. Besides, the level 50 dungeons still were pretty quick before the item sync was removed..

    Sometimes needed, sometimes boring, sometimes completely useless.
    What about giving choice to players?

    I am proposing three options:
    - "usual patch related level sync": the content has a level sync related to max ilvl reachable when it has been released (I speak about lvl 50 content): ilvl 90 max for 2.0 and 2.1 content, 110 for 2.2 and 2.3, 130 for 2.4 and 2.5. For lvl<50 content, the current max lvl is kept.
    - "hardcore mode level sync": the applied level sync is the same as the minimum required (i)lvl to enter the content. You want to enjoy challenge without changing all your stuff (can be painful to have 10 different set of gear for a job), then use the hardcore mode level sync!
    - "no level sync": you can enter the content with your current lvl/ilvl and blow up everything in 5 seconds. If it is what you want to, then why not?

    Of course, this must be parameterizable, and some constraints can be placed. For example: you have to chose the "usual patch related level sync" if you never did the content before. Or some special items could be available only if we use the "hardcore mode level sync". I think this idea is very interesting because with lots of possibilities and not that hard to code.

    I gonna make a dedicated topic about this as a proposal...

    So you prepose a 10 minute SR per over geared player before they never cue "Synched" dungeons again? Yea.... That's helping. /Sarchasim

    Now unsynched gear could be a good idea for solo dungeons. Because even at iLvl 120+, my PLD wouldn't last very long in Satasha Normal Mode with no Healer or DPS back up, not to mention if I was droped down to level 16 on top of it. /Shudders at the thought

    I personally am not against lvl sync... But I do wish that materia actually meant anything.
    Or even Hq gear for that matter.

    I don't really understand why they don't give you some amazing gear to go for, even it was super extremely rare to obtain.
