In regards to Au Ra lore and naming conventions..

When could we reasonably expect some of this info to be revealed?

I started playing at 2.0 beta and so, of course, at that time the races were already set and the lore carried over from 1.0. I don't know if race lore and naming conventions were revealed prior to the original 1.0 release, and if that's how they're going to do it for 3.0, that's fine, too. The reason I ask is that some players, myself included, would like to get crackin on choosing a good Au Ra name

I cant remember when the naming conventions became available but I want to say that when Phase 1 of beta, they were on the forums. I know for sure they were there on phase 2. I know some of the conventions didn't exsist in 1.0, male miqo'te/female Roe...

I agree with you though, I'm hoping the Au Ra conventions come out sooner then later.

I can't wait either... I would make an Au Ra placeholder if I knew what name I could give... My first thought was a Japanese name and then someone pointed out that that might just be DOMAN convention and not Au Ra... and so... I wait and hope to learn more...

Either, even if it is "Doman" convention, or if Yugiri is a normal Au Ra name, naming one thus would still fit within a Lore perspective. Names Doman? Your Au Ra came from Doman with the refugees. It is a typical Au Ra name? *shrug*.

I'd take a guess that the two tribes have different conventions; one has more Dravanian names (probably come from Coerthas/Dravania somewhere, being the "original" Au Ra) and the other has Doman names (had some disagreement with the others and migrated to Doma, eventually integrating with their culture).

This is a very good guess, and I'm inclined to believe it. However, we won't know for sure until SE decides to reveal the naming conventions. I'm really hoping they give them to us in either February or March.

Similar to what we've done for the other races, we’re planning to add a naming convention sticky thread in the Lore forum for the Au Ra as well.

My guess is...soon. At least, that's all they are going to tell us.
