Suggestion, give apocatastasis to SMN instead.

So I'm really happy with BLM, but the one ability that just seems completely out of place is apocatastasis. BLM is supposed to be about heavy nuking and has basically no buffs (except self buffs) so why does it have this one random one thrown on it?

SMN on the other hand seems to be built with the idea of being a support DD, similar to BRD, having eye for an eye, supervirus, Physick and battle raise.

So my suggestion is remove tri-disaster from SMN and give them apocatastasis instead to fit with their support style. And for BLM at level 40 give them burst.

Burst will be an ability on a 3min cast timer. It will be a buff with a 20 second duration. During the buff all thunders cast will have half duration on their DoT but will increase the thundercloud proc rate to 40%.

This would be good for times where the BLM has to move a lot for a short time. The thunderclouds would be weaker due to the shortened duration of the DoT so it wouldn't be too overpowered and an ability like this would fit the BLM job better than apocatastasis

I've yet to find a situation where I'd rather use tri-disaster over blizzard 2, not even frontlines. If that's the "content you don't normally do" you're reffering to.

Do not remove the spell with the coolest casting animation from my SMN please. It gives me pleasure to cast it on random mobs for no reason except to see how awesome it looks while killing level 5 mites.

Taking Contagion off of Garuda and making it affect all DoTs would GREATLY improve SMNs utility. ...probably too much, but yea.

I main blm and do occasionally need to help with i4i or apocatastasis. However I agree it would fit smn or sch more

At one point in FFXI, SCHs had an ability that doubled the damage of their Helix (DoT) spells, but halved their duration. The problem was, if you had an alliance of 18 SCH all used Modus Veritas at roughly the same time, the ability that doubles the damage, it would cause so much damage it actually one shot many bosses. Awesome, but insanely overpowered.

If SMN were adjusted this way, stacking SMN would be a viable and overpowered strategy. Fun, but overpowered.

I don't do dungeons much. Tri-disaster mainly comes into use during Frontlines. But when I was leveling Smn it was a great tool to have when leveling and doing levemetes in Whitebrim. You know, those dragonflies that would always aggro you. It's a great kiting tool.

ur idea is don't match with SMN's concept. apocatastasis is exactly BLM's concept.
if SE give damage decreased utility to SMN, it is Health-link with Egi like Cover.
when the Gigaflare, u take 5000+ damage. if SMN use that Health-link util (3min? 5min? anyway), 30% or 50% of taken damage divide to egi.
so SMN take 2500~3500 and egi take 1500~2500.
this is matched with SMN's concept and worth to replace Tri-disaster.
