    Dungeons: level caps?

    I do not believe i have seen anything mentioned about this so far.. but why is there no level cap for the 35 dungeon and such? it gets kind of ridiculous if R50's are just able to switch over quick and kill the boss if they are having a hard time.. forcing a level cap would not be hard either considering gear scales as is, and you would not need specific gear for that level..
    it basically loses all challenge and you just have higher LS mates run you through it to get the gear.

    It's a 25 dungeon.

    But what rank would you propose they cap it at?

    30-35 i think is reasonable for dealing with the "hard" boss so i hear.. the r45 one probably doesn't need to be capped, either way i think some form of a cap would be good, just thinking back on FFXIV and promyvions and such.. kept it a challenge even at higher level and a purpose for doing them still

    I kinda Agree with the Op.. Considering when I did the R25 Dungeon I did it with my high Rank class ( mainly because it was my main class, and I didnt want to play as any other class). This is what I got out of doing R25 Dungeons:

    1) Kills were basically 1 hit kills
    2) Yielded like 10 sp per kill :/
    3)It made the Dungeon Boss WAY to easy like you didn't need to Organize anything to win (which is something people were complaining about when there wasn't a Definate role for each party member).
    4)What Purpose would you go there for if your a high ranked Character? Beat up Mobs and gain nothing out of it?

    At the very least we should get sp from the Mobs at the R25 Dungeon, and if people want to rank up the High Ranked Characters and still do that particular Dungeon, I say They should Cap the R30 Dungeon to 30~35 Range whichever they would like to seem fit.

    Thats my opinion Anyways

    I wouldn't mind having a level cap, but otherwise it's just up to players to make it known if they don't want to simply blitzkrieg the R25 dungeon.

    My first Toto Rak experience was quite disappointing and the excitement was lost because the other players were going in as R45+ and split up into 2 teams to do it faster.

    I protested mildly at the start, and eventually went in as a R35 Thaumaturge, but I should have simply declined to participate that way. Partially my own fault for giving in and going along with it.

    Exactly after my first experience as a High ranked player going into that low ranked Dungeon I haven't had the urge to go back there again because of it.

    Its funny alot of people protested against this! and now alot of people seem to only go to the R45 Dungeon (unless your a new player)

    Hmm, I'd say just impose the cap yourself. If you want more of a challenge and more sp, just lay down the law with your party. Just let them know that run is going to be capped at 35 or whatever you chose. If you're playing with good people, they'd be ok with it. ^_^

    It's what my friends have done before, and it worked out well from what I hear.

    I kind of agree, but then again, if I'm just gear farming...I would prefer just running through afap.

    I like it the way it is to be honest because it's pretty open ended. If you're r50 going in there why are you needing the r30 gear anyway? Dungeons are intended to be great SP at the recommended levels with really nice gear on the side, or the other way around depending on how you see it =P

    If you are there only for gear the option of rushing through to get it is nice. Some people have more fun doing the zone and bosses at the recommended level. It should really be up to the player.
