I really hope they add a feature similar to FFXI conquest, wherein you may purchase items from another city's faction at an increased price and under certain conditions.
My two greatest fears at the moment are that if I align with a company now for a specific weapon type, that a few months later a different company will get a much better one available in a patch. My other fear is that, as it stands now, all my friends are devided on which company to join. No one wants to alienate the other by having them join without awards for their choice class. Yet, it would be sad, if we weren't all joined on the same allegiance and unable to enjoy the quests and story together.
I hope we hear something regarding this soon, as I'm a little too apprehensive to make a decision at the moment. ('~')

My husband and I duo together and I was afraid maybe we would be split on which companies we wanted to join. What a coincidence that CON and PUG are within the same company, as that is our main classes! Looks like we'll be going Twin Adder.

I hope so too, locking different class equipment to different companies is pretty rediculous, given that you can level every class in the game. I hope they do allow you to purchase other companies items at an increased cost...I really hope they add a feature similar to FFXI conquest, wherein you may purchase items from another city's faction at an increased price and under certain conditions.

Was just looking around and either I goofed or they switched it but THM is Maelstrom now so edited it to reflect this. I hope no one was affected by this ^^;.
I agree, I hope they have it like XI but we'll just have to wait and see. Also hope that they'll let you switch like in XI if you ever feel like it later on.

I really hope they change this because my main class is Pug, and I think Gridania is the worst city....

In contrast, I am a MRD (when I fight) and I LOVE Grid and plan to join Grid regardless as it's my home town. I'd hate to think I'm being penalized for this by not then having access to unique Marauder items...
I love deadlines. I love the whooshing sound they make as they fly by. (Douglas Adams)

Heh, I'm in a pickle myself. Started in Ul'dah as a PGL and then took up THM. I plan on both being my "mains" but I have to choose one to favor now since PGL is all the way over in Gridania and THM is all the way over in Limsa >.< Definitely didn't make this one an easy choice SE! lol

My main concern at the moment, and I really hope a dev can respond to this, is can we play future quests together with people in a different company?
I don't want to be isolated from my friends that all decided on different factions than my own.

I'm hoping they get a bit more creative with gear in the future. All the new content with NMs, dungeons and bosses seems to have cut the importance of crafters to novelty gear and repairs, especially with weapons now.
Ideally we'll see it where you start to get material drops and then these have to be crafted into the final items. Or something that doesn't cut out crafters from the equation in the end.
