I wish I had another option for a strong, muscular female race. I love my FemRoe, though, and now that I have seen the preview for the Au Ra, it is unlikely I will change.

Oh I wholeheartedly agree, but there is so little demand there's not much incentive to make a new one.

While I would like another buff female race, I do understand that one is enough. There's more demand for cutesy races than buff races on the female side. Female Roe population is plenty enough data for that.

It is possible that they created the female with the smallest height and the male with the tallest in the promo images. Because gender sterotypes say that's how it should be.

The Au Ra are the embodiment of asian stereotypical fantasy. You can find a race that looks exactly like them in every asian online MMO. The tiny, pale, borderline teenage girls. Then the males are these spiky-haired twinks. To me, the Au Ra race design is extremely lazy of Square-Enix and they were clearly made to appeal to the deviantart-based post-Advent Children final fantasy fans.

I wish Lalafell were taller, with rounder ears and slimmer bodies, and with longer legs, and changed their name to Hyur. This is my Christmas wish ^_^

I saw this complaint thread coming the second the screenshots were released.
So far I've seen these complaints:
1) Too lizardy
2) Not lizardy enough
3) Too pretty
4) Not pretty enough
5) stereotypical
6) Too different
7) Too sexually dichotomous
8) Not diverse enough

And people wonder why SE didn't request input about what we would want from a new race...

I think they're fine the way they are. If you want a race without a huge discrepancy in size between males and females, most of the existing races already fit that bill. Heck, there's almost no difference in size between Lalafell males and females.

Western gamers don't know what the hell they want' they should NEVER be listened to when creating game content.
