Was also hoping for a more intimidating woman model too, but it's nothing really to complain about. Femroe is there but they don't have the same badassery of male Au'ra.

Yeah but I was hoping for something more "beastly" and hope there will be options! Kinda loved the Popori and Amani from Tera!
Dat male holy shit
All they need now is to allow me to shyvana into groups of enemies and sold sold sold
They are kind of minimal with the changes here, but following the trend of ARR, it's silly to suggest they would be too radically different, especially if they're going to wear all the same armor and use all the same weapons as the other races.Well, I certainly wasn't expecting a reskinned Mi'qote. Something that looked a little less cheap and a little less ordinary would have been nice. You can be exotic without having digitigrade feet and a muzzle.
And I'm out before the "YiHFF" comments come flooding in. /2gil
But new race/genders means new animations, and that's always fun.

They're exactly what I would have expected to fit the rest of the playable races. Anything too "beast" like would have been a beast tribe. I'm +1 for they look great and think they fit right in.

I am sure they had Gria in mind when creating, but because Geardesign there were too many items to change, so they choosen to make it a bit different...
I would bet everything - thats the reason for the semi Gria we have now... just think: what is different to Gria?
Edit: You remember where they said they can not change gear because the cutting with long hairs? The argumentation was similar: too many to change, too much items to change...

I don't like the name of the race... It'll be in conflict with my character name >__<

Yeah, the only things different with Gria is that they have wings, and they don't have the scaley skin-feature.I am sure they had Gria in mind when creating, but because Geardesign there were too many items to change, so they choosen to make it a bit different...

My overall opinion: Not too bad.
The horns and tail look good. Would have preferred full body scales to the "scale patches" shown, but they might be okay if we have some control over where the patches are placed. Dislike the huge height difference between male and female; sure, people like the "one head taller" rule, but this goes well beyond that.
I'm hoping that the females aren't all "I'm an adventurer, teehee!" like the Midlander Hyur, but I'm okay with them not being muscular and tough like Roegadyn or Highlander Hyur. It'll be hard to judge before we have a chance to see their full range of motions and emotes.
Definitely tempted to change. I love my Roe, but I was always disappointed that SE kept the same races between FFXI and FFXIV (taking a "Galka female" was the closest I could get to trying out a "new race"). I also think dragon/human hybrids are awesome. We'll see; maybe if I like what I come up with in the character creator, I'll actually use that freebie Fantasia I got so long ago...
