No, it's called Sexual Dimorphism, which is defined as "the differences in appearance between males and females of the same species, as in colour, shape, size, and structure, that are caused by the inheritance of one or the other sexual pattern in the genetic material." The problem are these live-at-home social warriors who are trying to redefine an established scientific principal because they can't accept that there are fundamental differences between sexes that stem from millions of years of evolution. Males are male, and females are female. Your best bet would be for SE to implement a race of humanoid slugs. That way you can enjoy all your gender-ambiguities and not have to push them on everyone else.

Except there are few consistent biological factors between 'the sexes' other than a male's role to pollenate and a female's role to reproduce. There are multiple species where the female is larger and more physically dominant than the male, species where the male's job is to stay 'at home' and ensure the brood isn't dying, et cetera, et cetera.

So, no, S-E can do pretty much whatever they want with a new race's gender. They aren't bound by some Magic Sex Principle determined by Science. They chose to be boring and safe for the sake of a bottom line, and made extra-sure that their new female characters would be something conventionally sexually attractive - to humans, who are not Au Ra, or Miqo'te, or Lalafells, et cetera, et cetera. Hell, that every race is sexually attractive to human beings and each other because they all evolved along the same timeline somehow despite having differeng origin species is less realistic than asking that Au Ra women be as big (or bigger than) men.


You just suck at biology, which makes sense, because you're a biological essentialist.

i don't understand why complain about the height ..when most girls i know they only want 6feet tall boyfriend. and me im the type of guy who prefer smaller girl. Me i don't complain i see alot of people i wonder if they use the step chair to kiss. and the sexist thing hummm calling people sexist about making the guy manly and the girl pretty .... hum try telling every girl to stop wearing make up ...or all gym guy to stop going to gym .... and for difference spider is a big exemple of difference from female and male . And you got Snake female is bigger then the male an frog too ...

Pollinate not Pollenate and either way that has to do with plant reproduction not animal reproduction. As far as mammals and birds go the vast majority of sexual dimorphism trends towards larger males than females. Insects, reptiles and fish makeup the majority of cases of the opposite, larger females than males and in the case of reptiles snakes account for much of the larger females than males while anoles generally have larger males than females.

Trends exist and are correct, but don't really change anything - there are only five, going on to six, playable races in Eorzea, with distinguishing species markers, so while it is not unrealistic for each race to follow larger-male smaller-female sexual dimorphism, it is also not necessary, and a conscious choice of an author who could've written, drawn, designed, etc anything else.

Biology, essentially, is a moot point in the creators' artistic choices. Biology didn't tap Yosh on the shoulder and go "Hey, you HAVE to make women of the new race smaller so they can be sexy anime girls."

I don't see how the height difference is sexist. It's just odd given the fact that the other races don't have such a huge difference of heights between the sexes compared to the au ra.
