Sadly yes. I've had a few extreme primals where it has been an issue (though echo covers most issues up in the dps dept now). Some even with 20-25% echo. Good solid dpsers are invaluable. I can cover for an under performing co healer much easier than a solid dpser can carry underperforming dps. Thankfully with echo handling 1 under performing dps isn't as much of an issue.

If you truly like that, just do it. I won't. Even if you call me "disturbing" or "freak" because of it.

It always goes both ways, you know? People who complain about being judged should be aware of the fact, that the judging people want to have fun as well. As you said: A game is supposed to be fun. And not just for you.

    Lol

Cohealer: "hey Kha'tan how was my overheal on that last run?"
Me: "hold on let me get my abacus, I would want to be lazy by having a computer program tally that up for me. I'll get back to you next week! Go ahead with the next runs without me. Busy calculating all this stuff."

If using technology to be more efficient is lazy... We are all pretty much as lazy as it gets lol.

First up, me not being in a raiding group has nothing to do with this thread and any inference says more about that person than it does about me. Back on topic, I've already said I am all for implementing a parser that is only for oneself. In fact, I'd welcome it to satisfy my own curiosity about how my egis do. I do not, however, support any parser that can be used as a means of trolling and harassment, particularly if it's done without my knowledge or consent.

Omg, what are you talking about???
I was talking about players using computer programs to read others players dps. Not intended to offend anyone.

I don't like it too. But I will not be that "Sauron guy" watching players with computer programs.

Hehe, funny. But, lets put like this...

Cohealer: "hey Kha'tan how was my overheal on that last run?"
Me (you): " Oh mate, don't worry. Tank never died, your own mp was fine too, you never pulled aggro from tank... you don't need to know how much you overheal. Keep up that good work!"

There are many things in this game that can be used for harrassment of other players, shall we remove those as well? Vote kick feature, chat capabilities, emotes, player names, etc. just because a feature could be used to harass someone, doesn't mean we shouldn't have it.

Technically all the data is out in the open. So the idea that someone can't see your performance is false. (Yes we can tell when Garuda killed that renaud) It's not like the game hides it from other players.

We could implement dps parsers and remove chat features and vote kick from instances groups that way they can't communicate the harrassment directly... Doesn't that sound like a good idea? /sarcasm I don't think we should only be given features based on the lowest common denominator of player.

Giving a personal only dps meter is also not the answer. If the feature given does not have the functionality of the theirs party app, the third party app will still be used as it is today.

Yes but what if the tank did die, what if the other healer was out of mana (the typical issue with over healing), etc. what if they just want to practice being efficient for when they tackle hard content?

Why deny them this? Try something other than the harrassment reason. Vote kick / GM reporting are the appropriate ways to handle that issue.

Stop there! Exactly! Thiiiis is my point, my dear friend.
They need to practice. They don't need to read numbers with that Sauron program.
    They-just-need-practice.

Lets warp for a different universe...
In this universe, Sauron never did a program to read dps pr healing potency. So, what is going to happen into ffxiv? Bahamut will swallow us all, because no one will be good enough?

Of course not!! Players will just practice with ingame features to improve urself and beat that dread dragon!

There are just some players who need to practice more. Better to start from ladybugs.
Thought people are using parsers to detect them.
