I'm not really talking about ct right now, more so removing or reworking the "easy 24 man raid" whatever its called in 3.0.
I dunno about changes to it, but removing it is out of the question. Removing content like that just doesn't happen unless it's inherently broken.
I wouldn't exactly take the forums as word of the gospel; a lot of people in the game could feel differently. People on the forums that want harder dungeons and raids are probably people who play with friends or their FC and wouldn't dare touch the same content in the DF. You can tell whenever someone goes to complain about how they can't clear T5 due to bad DF players.I agree that content should be tailored to both casual and hardcore players à la ct/coil but there seems to be many that disagree with me. It seems like every player on the forums is always disappointed with the 4 man dungeons every patch since they aren't as you said "smash your head in hard".
ARR is not a hardcore raiding MMO. Just leave CT/ST as it is. If you want a hardcore raid then go play WoW and do Mythic.Going forward into heavansward and 3.0 would you like SE to change their raid format to either removing the (easy) crystal tower raid or reworking it to a as hard as coil raid but with the larger 24 man format. Essentially giving 2 hard raids just with different sizes.
Similar to the removal of LFR raid mode in wow. More of a return to the past MMO's where even stepping foot into a raid was difficult and required planning not just simply queuing up.
Also do you feel the addition of the CT line of raids has damaged the game or genre in anyway?
Also LFR is WoW has not been removed.
I would not be opposed to a harder version, as long as the regular version is included, and no extras were in the hard mode.
I like ct as it is. and it is annoying now with people complaining about dps being low in a raid where it does not matter much, and expecting 24 people to perform exceptionally. Even when there is no deaths or wipes, people still complain in st, so it would be worse with just a hard version.
its fine as it is, but i wouldn't mind a hard mode version.
So, you want to remove/rework something that isnt in game and that we don't even have a name for? Never mind any other info pertaining to a possible 24 peep alliance raid.
Ok....
No. I like the current dynamic just fine.
That said, in 3.0 they've already said they're switching to a WoW (Lich King and up) style where every raid will have difficulty settings.
CT1 was fine, I actually think a lot of the mechanics were well done for the "level" of instance it's meant to be. ST on the other hand was just a huge tank and spank, barely any meaningful mechanics to deal with.
Also SE seriously needs to just do away with trash pulls in raids. They're just there to waste time and clearing them is hardly ever even a question, especially in Coil just get rid of it imo. Even the trash pulls which require a bit more "coordination" than normal like T10's (Unless you use a NIN to just bypass it) are just more annoying than something you want to do.
My personal opinion is leave it alone. I like ST the way it is. I can beat up on bosses without a lot of trash (there is some, but not too much) and get some decent gear (stat wise. look wise welllllll), and also get some soldiery and poetics. I am not a hard core raider so ST suits me just fine.
