I've been at the nexus level for quite awhile now. Expected more at this point. Finally get a change in design but we get this garbage. People just seem to be buying into the anticipation of Zodiac and SE knows it. That's why they don't put out all of the images early on. If they had released earlier images people would have probably said, nope that's crap. Hell, just look at earlier threads some people thought the Excalibur was bunk. I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but it seems I got the short end of the stick this time. Just sucks because PLD doesn't have much to glamor with concerning main and off hand. A lot of work for a mediocre bull shit design. =/Curious where you are in your relic quest and I would suspect a lot more thought went into the process than 10 to 15 minutes. You don't appear to care for them but I will say that most of my friends are working on relics in various stages now with a number of them with Nexus. We had a ball this afternoon spamming Haukke HM looking for a drop.
The relics have been a fun part of my experience although they certainly keep me busy.
Anyways, end Q Q
Non-Lala fell screenshots in the works.

Nice! Bow is pretty lame though lol
Thank the 12 for glamours! Shame that once expansion hits vendor/dungeon loot > relic
if the final relics arent "OVER THE TOP" something is wrong...this weapons atm are a HUGE LOOK AT ME SIGN!!!! , if u dont feel like showing them because they look bad , silly , or other weapon look way better ...then what its the point?Everyone is free to have their opinion on something as subjective as how something looks, but honestly "over-the-top ornate crap" has always kind of been a staple of the Final Fantasy series.
So, while to you it looks bad, to me it looks very fitting for the game and the general aesthetic of a Final Fantasy title.
p.s. Game designers almost never design the looks of things like equipment, they design things like gameplay and story. Things like the look of environments, characters, equipment, etc. are determined by the art department for the most part.
So... Longinus doesn't look much like the spear Derplander was wielding in the Heavensward trailer, or is that just me? 3.0 new Relics confirmed?
Well the bow doesn't suit the Bard class at all, it's terribly designed for a Bard.
The lance isn't a lance. Gae Bolg is a lance. That is not a lance. That's a twisted fork. It is stupid.
Design team didn't think about the jobs for those two classes at least, because look at the damn weapons. They don't suit Bard or Dragoon at all.
Artemis was a bow/harp AND the quiver was a flute-type design, it fit perfectly.
Gae Bolg was a legit lance (apart from the stupid curly bit on it), and the wings on it supposedly helped guide attacks while jumping.
Both weapons were fit for purpose for their jobs.
These are not. These are terribly designed. They look like something you'd get from a dungeon, not as a "best weapon for job in game".

This.
I assumed when I first heard of the relics finally changing their original forms in the recently released Relic upgrade step that the spear in the Heavensward trailer would be what the Gae Bolg post-Nexus would look like... I'm feeling extremely uneasy right now, and I don't like it.
Ragnarok before Dark Knight comes out tells me they won't have the 2.x relic weapons for the 3.0 jobs as the Greatsword Relic in FFXI was the Ragnarok.
