Is everyone that missed out on the initial land grab SoL?

Are new Free Companies SoL?

Is the only option to save up 15 million gil for a Medium Plot?

I would just like to know if you seriously think the Housing Situation is fixed and if you plan on making any changes/additions.

My sister and I have saved up the Gil to buy a small house each but none are available to be had in any ward or subdivision. I know there are others in the same situation as the topic keeps coming up.

He was referring to the housing within ishguard. There will be more updates to housing as the game progresses.

Q23: In the expansion we will be going to Ishgard, but will you be implementing housing areas in Ishgard as well?

A23: The war between humans and dragons is still being fought in Ishgard and it’s not really a safe place to live, so we will not be implementing housing areas at the beginning of the expansion. While we may implement it at some point in the 3.0 series, we aren’t at the point where we can promise any kind of time frame.

Q26: Large size houses feel kind of empty. Can you increase the limit on the amount of furnishings that can be placed in houses?

A26: We had been prioritizing the addition of land and since we do not know exactly how much of a demand there is we have not been able to do anything with this. This is not to say that we will stop adding land in the future; however, I feel we’ve filled the demand with the expansion areas, so I’m thinking it’s about time to enhance the utilities for each house. The team in charge of this, however, is currently working on the Gold Saucer and Free Company crafting, so implementation would take place after this.

Sounds to me like they think it's fine as it is and are not planning to add any more plots any time soon.

I wish there was a system in place to be able to transfer houses to new plots, relinquish old plots for some small refund (or resell to other players!), and also scale up plots to the next tier.

Because I'm getting to the point where money spend on crafts is starting to pay dividends, and while I want a medium plot, I do not want to forfeit the millions I dropped on the house I currently have. Not to mention the furniture that cannot be recovered once placed...

The addition of subdivisions was a step in the right direction. I honestly believe they will get more out there because they have proved time and time again that they have the desire to do so.

The scope of the instance each ward is in surpasses the idea of a simple player house to a entrance similar to FFXI. We are dealing with 30 in a zone now layered with another phased instance. It takes time to make sure these concepts work. I rather have a working zone then a corrupt one. Have they specifically said they are not adding any more wards? Of course not. I agree, it is not fair for those who came into the market late to be left in the cold, but it is not the end either.

In regards to not adding housing to Ishgard, it makes sense. It will come, but it needs to reflect the common sense nature of the story-line. Who in their right mind would willing buy a house only to have dragons spawn down-wind to char your moogle plushies?

Like they were working on "Personal Housing" for several months, and we all know how that turned out. I still wonder what they were REALLY doing.

Personal housing for one. Let us see. 2.4 which added more housing wards, finishing up Fan Festivals, continual work on the expansion, Golden Saucer, design and creation of new housing and equipment items, class structure, the Ninja class, the content prior to personal housing between the introduction of standard FC housing and the biggest continual effort in maintaining stability across three platforms. Would you like them to stop producing the content they are promising to try to get more houses out? It takes time. I want to state my previous point: better a stable environment then a corrupt one.

Keep in mind that the answer was in the context of programming resources. Before they had their programmers focusing on how to increase the capacity of each housing ward, which they did by adding subdivisions and doing various optimizations. Now that they've figured that out, they can keep on adding new wards (which they said they will), but the programmers could start focusing on improving the capabilities of each house rather than trying to solve the capacity problem. The ward problem is no longer a programmer problem, just an infrastructure issue, which would probably be handled by a different team. The whole answer was basically trying to explain why they weren't able to raise this limit until they got the capacity issue figured out first.

The problem as usual is that they need to be more careful/precise with their wording when they post these answers on the forums. Yoshi-P tends to be very vague and conceptual because he oversees a whole lot of different things and isn't really "in the weeds", but when he talks about details people take him very literally.

I would like them to assure that Current Content is available to everyone while working on new content.

I would like a time frame for when we can expect more housing.

And though I don't owe you or anyone an explanation, the house is for me and my daughters Free Company. She started playing 2 months ago and we have been working hard to get our Company to Rank 6 only to discover that there are no small plots available. She is so disappointed that she has little desire to play now and feels all our work was for nothing.

Housing is a big deal to many people and is something that should be available to everyone.
