When I heard there was an earthquake and tsunamis in Japan I though "meh, they're used to them, they're well prepared" but then I watched the news and holy shit no one can be fully prepared to what has happened. It could have done much more damage in any other country.

Hello everyone.
I'm Japanese FF14 player and live in Japan, Chubu-region(middle region of Japan).
There is a distance of over 700 kilometers between my city and the epicenter, but I felt a shock yesterday.

Now, almost all west of Chubu-region are safe.
In these region, power/water/gas is supplied normally, and there is no panic.
On the other side, many public transportation are still delayed or stopped in Tokyo(east region and SQUARE-ENIX located).
I heard power is restoring in many Kanto-region(near Tokyo), but many Tohoku-region(north-east region) is not yet.
I cannot know the condition of the area near the epicenter -- i.e. Iwate pref – because the earthquake and tsunamis were so strong that a lot of network cable failed and most network and phone(including cell phone) in that area do not work.
Cause stops many power plant, power supply capacity reported to be going to short in the east-side including Tokyo.

Now, Tokyo area is safe and people got injured in Tokyo is very few.
If your friends live in Tokyo or west, they will stay safe.

However in the east-side, power supply capacity is going to short and a massive internet traffic interrupt emergency data link.
It seems that FF14 servers working normally, but I think we should not increase network traffic in Tokyo.
Please use this forum or diary system if you cannot know safety of your friends.

Worried and wishing the best for everyone. T.T The thought of people losing family members, homes, food and safety.. it's so terrible. When I get the money I'll be donating to relief efforts.
