Hope so. Tie it to getting rank 10 or even rank 20.

From what I understand, Black Chocobos =/= Companions (And thus companions can't fly.) We'll probably get a quest to get either a free black chocobo or a free one-person airship (Or both! One might be harder to obtain than the other.)
I won't be able to get Rank 20 until I get my own plot of land, since my current FC does planting too often and I can't cross-breed because of it.
That was my understanding too. It would be a new mount. I hope it's done like you say, as a quest rather than something painful.
They really should have done a planter for the FC room or Inn room. It's freaking weak that they gate so much behind gardening and then made it an FC or personal house only thing.I won't be able to get Rank 20 until I get my own plot of land, since my current FC does planting too often and I can't cross-breed because of it.
here's to hoping that "Condomeniums" have a planter that you can buy (a one-seed planter and a three-seed one for cross-breeding.) And limit the planter placements to FC Rooms and Condos only to disallow Hardcore FCs placing them in their already 3x8 large house plots.
If I remember correctly, they said they would give us a flying mount as we play after expansion, like a new free chocobo (black chocobo I supose) with a quest or something. Then there would be 6 other flying mounts to collect.
You got roluettes, you have treasure maps to sell the materials you find, you got challenge logs; how can you not have a fraction of that amount in a month?
I don't gather maps usually, and I have to solo all my maps, since my FC is usually not on, so I tend not to bother.
Adventurer in Need is 24/7 tank and healer, and I can't really do healer in trial roulette. I don't like big FCs, and will never join one who has 50 players active at once.

Maps are so easy to get on your own. Sell peistskin maps on the market, use the others for your purposes; treasure coffers usually have a piece of gear you could use to spritibind, convert it into materia, then sell that materia. Coffers can also have unhidden leather maps which you can either sell for mad gil or open it and hope the materials are rare and valuable (usually it is so).
And you don't always need the adventurer in need bonus. Just doing the roulettes once a day racks up your default bonuses.
I managed to save up to 5 million gil (with minimal spending) just doing dungeon runs, roulette runs, treasure maps, etc. Yes, it's not fast, but you can still get a ton of change doing the small things once a day. You don't need to be a hardcore crafter or content runner to make millions in a few hours.
