People in west Canada as well have to go through level3 as well and get the same problems as US players.
So moving them to the US would make it worse for the Canadians, who also do indeed play this game. Just because America has 10x the population does not mean you should say screw Canada move the servers to America. Do not understand why people in the US think that they are the only country in NA, there is Canada and Mexico just to mention a couple of others. I am playing from Germany and I have no issues playing this game at the end game level. The issues most of these players QQ about are from routing issues with their ISP, which is in no way SE's fault.

Why should SE move their data centers because your ISP is having problems?

Thank you for this, myself and some in our FC are in Canada. Moving location would not fix the issues at all. Or do some of you think because if on American soil it would be insta fix, no more connection and lag issues? I just think they need better servers, that would be a great start.

It's not even a server issue there bud. It's a routing/traffic issue. Montreal has a very crappy L3. To make matters worse, I want to say a majority of us here have to route through Chicago to get to Montreal. Guess what? Chicago has become just as terribad. So that's 2 very bad routing areas to get to a server that's located in an area where the majority of the consumer base DOESN'T EVEN LIVE.

So, simple logic would dictate, locate the cost effective location that is in the best possible location for the majority of your players. This is the very reason they are now going to move the EU servers back across the pond, probably to Germany. Now, I am not saying "screw Canadians." I am simply pointing out that if they want to reduce complaints about bad traffic in Montreal/Chicago they would be better off moving the servers to a more centralized location. This would help many people including some Canadians (the ones who live in BC).

My personal suggestion is that they place the servers in Dallas, Texas or if they must... Chicago.

Why move a NA server that is in NA to another NA location? Thats just a waste of money in any company, doesn't matter how much money they had made. If you tell me and have prove and had done a research that moving the NA server to the US will garantee that this connection issue will fix it, they may consider. BTW I live in Puerto Rico and I have no lag at all.

While I agree with everything else you stated. It actually isn't just a player's ISP issue. It is a Tier 1 Provider issue which involves everyone connected to it to include SE's provider and their bandwidth allotment.

We will see what happens after the EU Datacenter is operational as it will reduce traffic and overall loads to the lobby and world servers.

SE should be working with their own Provider on this and likely are. It is cheaper to buy allotted bandwidth from a T1 Provider than moving an entire Datacenter.

Xd, I remember them announcing the server location back then. I was excited to drop my ping under 100. Nope, no change, maybe slower.. lol

If there is 10x the population, assuming (not safely) there is 10x the customers, it would make sense then to move it anyways. Not that I want to see a particular sect screwed over, but that you should benefit the largest group if you want to assure the largest continued payment. While it is not SE's fault for bad ISP lines, it is SE's responsibility to work with the reality they are given (whatever that may be).

I'm glad the EU will be getting at least one EU dedicated data centre soon, it's long overdue.

However, this idea of MOVING the NA data centre from Montréal seems ridiculous. It adds an unnecessary cost while also inconveniencing players who are already benefitting from the current location. Adding a second or third data centre elsewhere in NA (perhaps West coast mid-USA to balance it out a bit) seems much more reasonable, and probably will cost less (in time, money, and end-user frustration) than the originally proposed idea.
