The reason of the cap is to avoid the inevitable gap between elite farming players and rest of the world, does not happen after 5 minutes from patch release.

It that happens, will starts a flood on the forums the next day about players are bored and wants challenges etc etc etc

Put the cap to 600 will just speedup that process and I don't know if that is a good idea.

Elite players are not so much affected, they also are farming all gear for their main in FCoB, one piece at week if I recall correctly.

450 looks good for me. Well, I need do Hullbreaker Isle and CT/ST more than 20x to cap.

I think they might as well make it 600. If someone is tough enough to actually grind for more than two runs of whatever in this games without clawing their eyes out they deserve to be rewarded.

    Increase the cap to 600
Let us buy a lottery ticket with 100
If we win the lottery, we get the gear (6 chances each week)

Except they aren't, really. First off, if you're expecting to get a piece a week of gear from FCoB, you're setting yourself up for disappointment. Even if you have all four turns on farm--and most people don't--that's 8 pieces of gear across 8 players. One of those items is guaranteed to be a weapon, which has a 20% chance of not even going to a job you use in your static. It's entirely possible to get gear drops in Coil that no one in your group can use, and you have no control over that. Meanwhile, every class needs tome gear in order to not be sub-par, but tome gear is limited to two i130 pieces a week per 8 people; four per week if you're farming T13. Tome gear at the moment is onerously slow, and I see no reason for it.

Raising the cap from 450 to 600 is not the correct solution if you want to support multi-class progression.

One of the good way to do that would be to set a weekly cap per role (Scouting, Healing, Striking, Fending, Casting, Aiming, Maiming) and only allowing your job to buy equipable pieces of equipment so you can't use your weekly cap on your caster to buy tank gear, for example.

This would allow people to play longer instead of just capping 450 once for the week and waiting for the next one.
(You would, in total, have 3150 tomestones to get to cap every role... if you play them and want to gear them all, of course.)

Edit: While it sounds like a good idea, it might be a bit more complex than that. Check my next post.

IF SE do this, they would also decrease the cap to 200/week for each job, I guess

Why? You're still not actually gearing up significantly faster if they made the change.

It's almost as if some people don't realize the only end-game progression is either Tomes or Coil and unless you actively cleared Coil you will not be doing the main progression of this game.

Run ST with all those alts. 100-110 won't kill you if you're not doing Coil anyway. Heaven forbid we have to plan out a characters upgrades under a tight guideline for once rather than handing it out immediately.

Level crafting/gathering. Do those four star crafts. Finish EX modes. Do those logs that keep annoying you. PvP. Sight see a bit.

Sit by a fire and contemplate your life.

    Stuff.

End game isn't subjective or anything.
