You lost me at "tank gear."I wear tank gear so my medicas aren't too op. Also so what if enemies punch me for a few secondsi'll just stoneskin my self -> swiftcast stoneskin to mitigate emnity while medica 2 ticks and heals me. Tank should be able to grab hate by then if not, i question thee!
If it isn't coil then probs won't be as big of a deal to ppl.
Also cuz i think its from all this high geared ppl flooding into dungeons.
Newbie WHMs need to learn that Medica II is not to be used like Succor. I think the habit of casting HoTs as if they were buffers is something players learn in other games and expect to work similarly here.

I think this is the issue, the WHM see SCH pre-cast Succor and say to themselves, "Hey...I can do that too!" except it doesn't work the same. In fact, a funny story here, a friend of mine was running ST for his first time with me. Since he was a WHM I queue'd as my SCH who was ilvl 106 to his WHM ilvl 80 something so that I could make his time less painful. He noticed I was pre-casting Succor on boss fights and things like that and without thinking mimic'd me with Medica 2 and pulled aggro on the trash pulls and died! It was hilarious! I later asked him why he did that and he said, "I just saw you doing it and didn't think a thing of it until I had a mouth full of mobs and was dead on the floor."
So yeah...

As a noob who doesn't have Medica II yet what's the supposed point behind precasting Medica II? So far I haven't felt a need to do any precasting beyond putting Stoneskin on my tank.
There is no point in precasting it at all, but it's an awesome skill (when timed properly) that will save you tons of MP and GCD's as you progress towards the endgame content. You'll see it by yourslef![]()
"I have to save Benediction for a REAL emergency!"
-My last words before lots of wipes
Check character info before posting, saves you the embarrassment of saying someone who has the Archmage achievement never played WHM.
Anyways, yeah, no reason to pre-cast this skill. That being said, no reason a tank shouldn't use the drop buff early function to remove a HOT before pulling. So yeah, sounds like stupidity all around really. Medica II is very MP efficient, if used properly. Popping a massive AOE HOT if 1 or 2 targets lose some hp is stupid. Popping it after all 8 party members take 2-3k damage after a big unavoidable AOE? Kuddos, whm. The WHM has pretty much every healing tool at their fingertips except for an AOE shield that can be used in combat. The GCD in this game is longer than I've seen in almost every other MMO I've ever played, If you can't read an entire fight situation in a matter of 2.5 seconds and decide on what heal you're going to throw out next, then perhaps it's not your computer processor that is too slow.
I love your banner...

Seems like it would pull aggro too, like casting Regen as soon as the tank pulls. I learned that the hard way as soon I got regen that it feels like an enmity magnet. I thought "Oooh! I can drop this around and.. NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE.." I learned my lesson the first time I dropped regen on someone in a FATE grinding group and had a face full of flashing red enmity icons.
