You say this like a VPN solves everything. I mean, I love how much WTFast helps me, but there are limits to what it can do. . .

Did Hyperion break down or something? Cause on on Balmung, other than the occassional red dot mass at Odin and S ranks (which sometimes happen with or without free log in weekend), I haven't felt much lag?

Meh, I've had slightly worse connection today than normal, but that could be anything.

Every single time we have a free login weekend, we get latency increases across the board meaning that doing anything that requires more than facerolling i.e. Coil gets exponentially harder because of this. Effectively, paying customers are being disadvantaged by freeloaders.

Since expecting SE to add new server capacity for a weekend is unrealistic, ending the free login weekends should solve the issue.

You said the solution yourself. they need to up their serve capacity. They also need to deal with full servers too.

You missed the original point. The servers are overloaded on SEs end so it causes delays in processing so why would they player's connection help?

Maybe put on a light jacket and head out on to the deck/balcony/patio/whatever with some candles and your significant other and have a romantic evening enjoying each other's company!

I think most people with lag issues are having fps lag, not latency problems.

(I know OP is making reference to latency, but not everyone agreeing with the OP could have the same)

I played all weekend and did not experience any lag. I did however get "server is full" queues a couple of times when trying to log in. I do not appreciate having to wait to log into a game I pay for so that freeloaders can play.

its not freeloading when the company is offering the product for free to others...

I don't get why people have a problem with free login weekends... its a promotion for the game we play to gain popularity and eventually revenue. How is this bad? You mean to tell me you can't handle a bit of "lag" (i didn't get any at all but i play on a low pop server) and extra busy servers for 2 days?
