Sad Sad day for SCH

Ok, so I finally reached ilvl 100 on my SCH (I am new to game), but i have noticed that most of the new ilvl 120+ crit gear is from the final coil?

So basically, you can almost get BIS from just farming poetics on a WHM, but for a SCH, you have to be able to clear Final coil to get BiS?

This is ridiculous don't you guys think?

SCH is way too crit dependent, I mean lustrate don't scale with gear, you have 2 aoe heals that benefit from crit, so I am stuck with hero's accessories and daystar gear until next expansion?

I am just curious how people that cannot join raid groups to clear new content keep up with their gear?

Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.



Edit: I am almost convinced to drop SCH and go WHM at least until next expac if I cannot find a reasonable solution

Oh sure, complain about this now, never mind that WHMs had the opposite problem when SCoB came out.

P.S. BiS means nothing unless you're a top tier min-maxing raider. If secondary stats affect your ability to heal, you have bigger problems than gear.

Ironworks Belt has crit
Ironworks Thighboots has crit
Ironworks Bracelet has crit

If anything they made it so WHM and SCH will need a mix of both for BiS this time, instead of handing it to SCHs like they did in 2.2.

Secondary stats mean so little in FFXIV it's hilariously funny. A SCH with absolutely no Crit gear on can do just fine in end-game content. Seriously, it's not THAT big of a deal.

Silly OP, ilvl and thus MND always comes first. No one will deny you of a raiding spot if you're good and at ANY i110 gear. Besides, you are literally handed out the i110 BiS with sands being easy to get too. Also, you are not stuck with Hero's accessories because you also have the opportunity to farm SCOB/Ramuh EX for other i110 BiS pieces. We're all as fresh off in 2.4 with the new stuff, so chill out.

Aldo crit is just so good that I really want high crit gear as much as possible, and less crit on the new 2.4 poetic gear kinda threw me off thats all.

I will keep working on it...

1/ Who care bout BiS for healer? whether you are full crit or full det what matters is that you keep people alive
2/ I hated at the begining of last patch how SCH was the last who could upgrade to 110 because you needed 5 sands to upgrade left side and when you gear up, you leave all the sands to the DPS first (and tanks) and the WHM took all coil loot first because BiS...

so no, I am super happy that somes pieces are in coil

Actually, the new PVP gear has significantly more crit than anything else out there at the moment =s

And no, full poetics gear isn't BiS for WHM at all, both healers got the short straw as far as itemisation goes this tier. Most BiS SCH builds have more SS than DET (typically by just under 100). Hilarious =/

I raid end game as scholar, and one thing i have learned is dont put too much emphasis on that crit adlo. Its nice when it happens, but your healing style should be such that a crit is never needed. As others have said, soldery gear was tuned for sch>whm in terms of prefered secondary stats, but if you arent end game raiding, BiS actually means very little. Mind>nearly everything else on gear. Higher ilvl gear means more defense.

Well, I never gave attention for critical hit rate. Seems lottery. I still need do more 3 books, but after this I intend to put piety, determination and spell speed in Novus.

Anyway, I never did Coil and probably never will do. Then I do not undersstand about this need to crit.
