The AH in Rift is about the best I've ever seen in an MMO.
Could even right click an item in inventory and it would search the AH for it if you had the window open at the time..... heaven for crafting.
If things are selling at a steady pace at 40K, I'd gladly flip yours for 10x34K gain. That would be a great day for flipping. Go ahead undercut by an order of magnitude, I only need to sell one item to be back at break even and the next 9 is all profit. I'd take that gamble any day of the week.
I think folks are forgetting the meanings between auction house and market board. auction houses you have to BID on items to get them players set a least price they will take to sell it and players fight over the price they are wiling to pay to get it and highest bidder wins. in case of 11 if you bid over the price or the same p[rice as the seller you get it... markets boards folks put items up for prices they want and if you want it you pay that price you do. big difference .. so either you want a auction house or a market board.
Pretty much everything that I listed on Tuesday got undercut significantly that night. I've experienced some bad undercutting in this game, but some of these items dropped from a value of around 3000 gil to 600 gil.
I really hope that the devs seriously consider hiding the list prices, similar to XI's system.

That is a sign of a healthy market. Things priced based on the what the buyers and sellers are willing to accept. They don't need a system retards the responsiveness by ways of fees or hiding list prices. The system works. People incorrectly horded stuff hoping all jump in an take advantage of the patc, so dropping to 600 is just fine. If you are confident that it should be 3000, buy it all up and make 5X gain on the flip.
Patch after patch people come on complaining about undercutting because their item is listed at much lower then it was before. It has nothing to do with the market board system, it has to do with radical shift in the demand (or supply) of the product either up or down. With increasing ilvl and new recipes, the market for so many items basically resets each patch. There will be many gripes about why x item isn't worth as much or is now too expensive. Take any price history from last week with a grain of salt.
yes i know stall system and make your retainer stand there and sell stuff
It has to do with someone needing/wanting the sale/money NOW, so I'd venture a lot of it is more about the demand for in game Gil at times than it is the items for sale.Patch after patch people come on complaining about undercutting because their item is listed at much lower then it was before. Patience rewards with much higher payoffs unless a patch screws with how/what an item is used for, but no one has any patience anymore. (Plus they are trying to sell before the bots destroy the price completely because SE doesnt seem to want to get rid of them)
I think you mean the market board, right?
when did they add a auction house to the game?
