Look at it this way...

When the expansion comes out, it won't matter what kind of gear you have, even if you have poetic gear, it'll be poetically useless.

Just enjoy the game and wait for that expansion.

S rank hunt does drop poetics though, but only like 10 I think.

Remember that A ranks can be done with a small group.
The few times I managed to do an A rank in a small group it was a lot more fun then the usual zerg fest. ^^

THIS!!!! 1000x this!!! we did the Oceanis mob (Leviathan knockoff in Lower La Nosc.) with 8 people only! SO MUCH FUN!!!! It actually felt like a decent challenge!
anything that isn't facerolled in 3 seconds is always fun! and it felt more rewarding as well as a matter of fact, I think we were doing some alongside your group on Goblin :P

It's been long time since I grinding for seals, but I thought they drastically lowered the cost of items from the hunts vendor to make up for the large decrease in seal gathering?

You couldn't get the weathered stuff from the hunt vendor, they added that with this patch. As you can see, only way to get these would be the hunts. Unless theres somewhere else that drops allied seals for rewards. They really dropped the ball on this....

At OP, it's understandable that you're discouraged, it's a natural reaction to have when someone/something is taken away from you; however, AAR is an MMO, and things change/get updated, etc.. We can only adapt and continue to grow as players. There will be a few who rage and quit, and I say good riddance, because they were probably the toxic buttheads who we'd occasionally run into via DF.

aaam, that is for 825 soldiery, so you can run your roulletes and farm soldiery now, theres no lilmit now, hunts were another option to get gear

If your absolutely stuck on Hunts, you can run hunts and just double dip with seals and soldiery. You can deck out in full soldiery gear pretty fast that way too.
